In our latest podcast, we are joined by Mukhlis Mah, an Australian Chinese Muslim who has been studying the Arabic language for over 6 years.
In this discussion, we go over a range of topics including the history of Islam in China, his journey in studying the Arabic language, the social media obsession with Asian Muslims, the contribution of non-Arabs to Arabic, the wisdom of the Quran being in Arabic, and Mukhlis’s esteemed academic background in Geochemistry.

1) Assalamualaikum brother / sister, how are you all doing there? You don't have to answer if there's anything you can't say. We understand. 2) How is life for normal muslims there? 3) Also do you live somewhere else because I have heard that they don't allow you tube and have their own apps. 4) Are there many others like you or very few? I'm sorry for so many questions but to chat with a Chinese let alone a muslim Chinese that too amidst all the news about our brothers in there..

Salam. Very wise decision because Quran was revealed in Arabic . No translation can match it. When we make invocations,Arabic words are better to feel our faith. I’m a French convert and I’m very happy to understand and practice Arabic. Arabic language is also the best way to communicate with Muslims. الحمد لله و الصلاة و السلام على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

Supplication for morning and evening: "اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ". Allaahumma bika 'asbahnaa, wa bika 'amsaynaa, wa bika nahyaa, wa bika namootu wa 'ilaykan-nushoor. O Allah , by You we enter the morning and by You we enter the evening, by You we live and and by You we die, and to You is the Final Return. When you say this in the evening you should say: Allaahumma bika 'amsaynaa wa bika 'asbahnaa, wa bika nahyaa, wa bika namoot, wa 'ilaykal-maseer : "O Allah, You bring us the end of the day as You bring us its beginning, You bring us life and you bring us death, and to You is our fate."

Thank you!!! Jazak Allah kheiron! I agree with brother Mukhlis! I am an Arabic teacher in Sydney and honestly the state of the Arabic language is very poor. Arabs speak English to their kids. Most Young students don't understand simple sentences. We're lazy its seriously sad, for me it's frustrating to see the Arab community like this. Its a serious problem. Anyone can learn Arabic and us Arabs are happy and proud that were Arab (pride is not favoured in Islam) I am an Arab and muslim myself and alhamdulila my parents spoke Arabic with me as well as taught it and now i teach it alhamdulila. I always tell my students i want them to love and want to learn Arabic. Arabic isn't hard, it's beautiful. Alhamdulila Allah yefrejha.
