Islam in the cities

Islam is now the second religion in France. But the place of this community is far from always simple in this country.
This documentary presents the Muslim community of the suburbs of Lyon. Vénissieux is home to inhabitants with modest incomes. Most of them are Muslim. But not all of them have the same vision of religion. The vast majority preach an Islam of peace and tolerance, which can be integrated into French society. But a minority of fundamentalists take refuge in a dogmatic practice.
The development of Islam remains an important issue, due to the growing number of Muslims. Through this documentary, we discover to what extent their religious practice is more or less accepted by the rest of the population.
