He looked bigger against Oliveira. I think the team should have thought of the rehydration time before accepting this fight in Australia. Would have been better for both Islam and Alex with more time after the weight cut, but Alex looked stronger in a shorter time.

He was visibly smaller when he went on the scale compared to last time (despite being 0.5lb heaver), so i think whatever training & cutting program he was on played as much a part as the rehydration after. Anyway everyone had to follow the same regulations so there’s not much unfairness to complain about.

I think this puts the conversation to rest. Volkanovski is overrated as hell. He fought a completely dehydrated Islam while he himself was in mint condition in his hometown and he stil lost. At first I was thinking, wow Volk is a beast for giving Islam a hard fight despite losing. But after learning about the hydration fiasco that Islam went through, it changed everything. My opinion has become, how on earth did Islam manage to beat Volk? And how much does Volk have to suck to lose to a dehydrated opponent?
