It is always nice to return to a place where you know a bit about the area and where it is pleasant to be.
Islamabad is such a city. Built from the ground up, this capital city consists of wide avenues surrounded by lots of greenery on the edge of the Margalla Hills, which form the foothills of the Himalayas.
We come to Islamabad for two reasons: firstly, to pick up our visas for Iran, but also, of course, to see Sana, who we met on our first visit six months ago and who showed us around the city.
Although the weather gods were not on our side this time, we had another fantastic time in Islamabad.

Who are we?
We’re An and Yves, a Belgian couple who share a passion for travel en adventure.

Being a Pakistani, watching this was pretty heart warming. I would love my country to be on the top in the world as the most safest, most hospitable, most clean and cheap in terms of food, accomodation, moving around. It's really very sad and unfortunate that you are not able to explore Pakistan freely in a van. I did not know this......that really needs to change. And yes unfortunately l won't visit Pakistan during Eid unless lm already there as l tend to plan my trip around about 7 days after Eid to allow for the long holiday that is taken. Everything is closed and it's awaiting game and such a waste of time especially if you have things to do..

You have a point but we have to be careful. Dozens of British (white) tourists are murdered in the US every year but people still go there as if it is a safe country...... Imagine if one of them gets murdered in Pakistan, they will make movies on that. After 9/11, a US guy who wanted to interview the most dangerous Al Qaeda terrorists. Al Qaeda guys thought he was a spy. That guy knew the risks of meeting such dangerous people but he secretly went ahead. When he got murdered by them, they made a movie on his life starring Angelina Jolie as his wife. After that, Pakistan introduced police escorts in certain areas.
