Say whatever you want to, but Islamabad was financed by the Bengalis of then East Pakistan. It was SUCH a waste of money. Compared to the amount of money spend on Islamabad the economic benefits are low. Islamabad is very small as a city and contribute less to the Pakistani GDP. Government of Pakistan should have focused on developing Power sector cause that area has shortage and drives Industrialization. Also, Pakistani government should have spend more on Education to stop mass terrorism. Last but not the least, pre-71, Pakistani government should have spend more money on Dhaka than on Islamabad. Post-71, government should spend more money in Karachi as it is the port city, cosmopolitan city, has more educated class and is the business and industrial hub of Pakistan. Islamabad is a WASTE of money for a poor country like Pakistan. Bangladesh is growing at 7-8% GDP , twice the rate of Pakistan because we are not wasting money BEAUTIFUL CAPITAL. Like come on!!! Spend on power, education, infrastructure and create a business friendly environment. That is all you need. Learn from USA. USA did not spend trillions in building Washington DC. Pakistanis are driven by ego to showoff and it backfires big time.

Oh yeah that's the road to Faisal Mosque and one of the most posh sectors im Isb E 7. Its a very green , beautiful city and trust me in the evenings when u have evening entering the night u feel so spiritual and connected to God. At one time the best place for ppl who liked to read and all. Now housing schemes every where and this trend of shopping plazas and high rise is killing it. I visited one of the best shrines here. So peaceful with mountains and greenery all around. There u had national library which had the best books in the world but unfortunately they turned that into some courts and Kohsar market once was heaven on earth.
