Wearing black clothes on the anniversaries of the martyrdom of Ahl ul-Bait (a.) for the sake of venerating and commemorating the divine indications and expressing sorrow and grief is among the practices that bring much reward. Whatever the case is, there is no evidence that wearing black clothes for the daily routine other than during prayer is makruh (disliked).

We all pray in black clothes during muharram. Is there any exception for muharram?

Salam, wearing black clothes during prayer is makruh apart from a turban and 'aba. According to scholars whatever the case is, there is no evidence that wearing black clothes for the daily routine other than during prayer is makruh. Wearing black clothes on the anniversaries of the martyrdom of Ahlul Bayt (as) for the sake of venerating and commemorating the divine indications and expressing sorrow and grief is among the practices that bring much reward.
