Vic, another great video: enlightening, respectful, unpretentious; like all of your travelogues! - I had read an interesting detail about these Yapese coins: When a transaction occured, the posession of the coin would indeed pass onto a new owner. But the coin remains in its place. Clearly, it would be rather impractical to try to stuff it into your wallet, or even roll it over to your front yard. That's why you see the vegetation and moss all over the coins. And the "bank" you are showing here seems quite an appropriate place to keep them. That's not what they are. They're olympic weights used by ancient giants to work out. You can see the non-giant, mundane humans imitate this behavior from time to time when they mount the stones on a pole (bar) and do ceremonial lifts.

Umm, isn't it way way more likely that those are wheels from a civilization that pre dates the tribe that have these stones? Not sure why a small tribe that runs around with wooden sticks would create 2 - 3 meter large perfectly circular wheels. Those wheels also looks super old.

Most likely those tribe likely the ones done it. If there was really a civilization before, they wouldnt be wiped out defeated by tribes with sticks and there would have been ruins around it.

I'm from yap. The holes in the middle is more for transporting purposes. After all yaps stone moneys came from Palau Island
