Isle of Man - Manx Electric - Ultimate Driving Experience - Douglas to Laxey

Cab view from my Manx Electric 'Ultimate Driving Experience' trip.

Video split into sections. I missed recording Laxey to Ramsey but did get the return trip.
There were two drivers (me and another) and two Manx Electric employees to supervise us.
The other enthusiast had done the 'basic' 'UDE' previously. Manx Electric allowed me to book an 'Intermediate' on the basis I already knew how to drive a Heritage electric tram.
I've left the audio unaltered as it includes the instructors instructions on how much power or brake to use. This experience has re-inforced to me how important 'route knowledge' is to the operate of a rail vehical.
The video is in 3 sections, covering all of the line. I managed to not record my drive from Laxey to Ramsay, but do have the return trip.

Outstanding video! I had heard of the Isle of Man but would never of thought that there would be an electric tramway. Count me as a new subscriber from Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

On the south side of Douglas, there is a steam railway that heads to Port Erin. They offer 'ultimate driving experience' days too. I'm not so much interested in steam, but it's worth looking up. Both the railways are caught in a sort of time warp. There is also the Snaefell mountain railway out of Laxey. They don't do 'UDE' on that line - possibly because due to the nature of the line, they don't feel it would be safe to have unqualified drivers on the extreme grades on this railway. On the steep grades mistakes could compound quickly.
