Brilliant film. Never realised Islip had such a history. Love to see something like this about Ardley.

Thanks I loved making it. If anyone can find funding I am willing to make a film about Ardley. I am currently working on one about Swansea www.undercurrents.org/

Very interesting and i was just yesterday wondering which building had originally been the Saddlers Arms and here you have a photo ! Some of my family originated here.Such a pretty village I visited 20 or so years ago.

What a great film and very interesting too. I bet all the old characters in this video are gone now. It was nice to see the old village shop and makes me think if the coming of the supermarkets has robbed us severely of Olde England's character?

Thanks for the feedback. We had a lot of fun making the film 17 years ago.

I make music and I'd decided to film some stuff as filler for the tunes and thought ah St Margaret's would be great and I did you know the old grave stones and stuff (some of the buried there lived through Cromwell and the restoration ) anyway I was there one time and I met Arthur who was weeding a rose bed .He knew a all the history back to saxon times as well as a fair bit about St Margaret of Antioch. My camera broke but I reckon I need to make it a priority once I'v a new one(don't fail me e bay)to go ask him if he want's to be interviewed to tell the story of the church .It's a weird wee town of immigrants this me included and you rarely hear a proper Suffolk accent(Lowestoft by the way ). I don't know why I told you that .

@@goon143 I love how you told it though. You have a story in you wanting to come out so go get that camera dude!

@@undercurrentsmedia Cheers amigo but in this instance I'm more interested in Arthurs story ,I mean I'm shy as fuck to say to someone hey pal let me film you . Don't get me wrong I'd like poeple to hear my tunes but a conversation with Arthur and most people for that matter if they're talking about something that means somthing to them ,I reckon that's where it's at jack not me trying to sing latin.

I knew she was a teacher before reading the description. Why don't BBC presenters have that sense of humour? Good film, but I have to say it could really do without "Motorway Song" by Seize the Day

What's wrong with the motorway song? too close too the truth?
