I never use the phrase “sensual bachata” anymore. It’s just Sensual. I don’t actually mind people dancing to Ariana Grande to bachata timing, I just don’t want it to be called bachata or have the word bachata attached to it. I’ve been to a social where someone heard Anthony Santos and said “that’s not real bachata” and I was in shock. People really don’t know. I also love what was said about these certain moves like body rolls being a standard part of people’s dance curriculums instead of a one off, in the moment kind of thing. Great podcast
