Im a healthcare assistant. I used to take some of the biscuits on the tea trolley that was provided for the patients and I used to use the milk in the fridge that was provided for them and the cereal and toast on occasions. The HolySpirit did convict me and I repented but it would happen again when I did not bring enough to eat or I was hungry. I repent Lord for taking what was not mine and ignoring the action because everyone else does it. I'm sorry Lord!

Amen. The Lord has convicted me about this in the past. I used to work at a restaurant as a teenager. We workers would all sneak a couple chicken nuggets if we got hungry. It is a common sin and I pray we can all resist the temptation to take the little things. I know a Christian nurse and sometimes if she needs a little ointment for a cut or a bandage, she will bring a couple home. One time she brought me a small lancet for a blood test. She said all the nurses do it but only take small things that are very cheap. Please pray that the Lord will help her to understand.

"Do not muzzle a threshing bull..." (It's in THE BIBLE) A threshing bull used to turn the mill-stones used to grind grain into flour.....but as it did so, there was always some grain spillage on the periphery. It was common for a working animal to "graze" on these grain spillages as it worked hard, going round and round...turning grain into flour for it's human masters. "Muzzling" the animal (thus preventing it from nourishing ITSELF)...whilst undertaking its work was unholy in God's sight. Those who work hard in service to somebody....must never have nourishment withheld by the somebody whom they serve....so I do not think the Lord would take a dim view of YOU for "sharing" any of the nourishment made available as you go about in such service. MAN'S laws however....are cruel and miserly, and even where wages are paid, and contracts and policies are established....they fail to see the spiritual "contract" between those who serve and those who receive such service. This is not to say "help yourself" to other people's nourishment, but insofar as you are not depriving anybody and resources are plentiful......then there is a divine principle here. You also share a room full of oxygen (breathable air) with your patients as you tend them do you not? Is THIS divided up into a portion that's considered "your" air.... and another portion which belongs to your patient's? How ludicrous this sounds does it not? But if greedy men could harness the air and put a dollar price on it, then rest assured, they would have it so that even those rendering sacred service to the needy.....would be contractually obliged to bring their own "air" to work with them. The Lord cares little for this "sin" of yours I'd wager.....but rather....holds his contempt for those who have made you BELIEVE that you have sinned, based on THEIR OWN unsympathetic and miserly regulations and policies.

Don't live in fear on losing your salvation based on your performance, its never going to be good enough this side of eternity until we are made whole. Of course if we keep sinning with the attitude "nah, I can repent later" this is where it gets into dangerous territory, but you sound like your heart is in the right place. I feel like it's important for people not to only look at the good in someone, or the bad in someone, but at both. If all you see is the good and you ignore the evil, the evil will never get dealt with. And if all you see is the evil and never see the good, as she said you won't be much help either. We have to know what situation calls for what reaction. I think too many people out there today are only focusing on the good, and they are ignoring the evil and that allows it to run rampant and never be cast out. Before someone has their demons cast out, they have to realize they have them in the first place. Jesus knew this. That's why he called the Pharisees sons of the devil. That's why he called his disciples dull. That's why he said to Peter, get behind me satan. He confronted the evil in people while simultaneously focusing on the good person they can be.

It's not a bad thing that you stand up to those who try to intimidate you but try to look for patterns that reveal demonic activity and the area(s) of your life they're targeting. Jesus says, "Be angry, but sin not". It could be the enemy of your soul is trying to tempt you into a PHYSICAL altercation. AVOID this because these people are sent to you by the enemy; they don't know it, but they're stirred up by the enemy against you. Having found myself in similar situations like this, I can say that it's really important to have people in your life who are kind to you,and are supportive- because that help with dealing with the rest of the world " out there." You don't say who it is who's actually bothering you, but you can have boundaries with anyone who is toxic. Forgiveness and reconciliation isn't the same. Some relationships just need to be over. We can't hate. But we can leave.

Excellent! "Holiness", "Humility", "Preferring other people" -- these are terms all but forgotten in most of modern day American Christianity. Of course, they were always in the Word of God, and never went anywhere, but many believers are tragically not in the Word very much. And if concepts don't get preached from the pulpit, unfortunately church goers don't think they're important. For us to be the spotless Bride of Christ Jesus is coming back for, we need to do what Laurie tells us here.

When I was a teenager I was at a store and they should have given me a 5 dollar bill plus change. They had mistakenly given me a 10 dollar bill. I had seen it when I was walking out of the store. I had a flashing thought that said "my gain". And then I felt so guilty. I went back into the line up and explained what happened. The lady was not believing a mistake happened. I had to almost force her to exchange my 10 for a 5. She thought that I was nuts. But I could not accept it with peace. I was convicted. Now I am more careful to watch the change right away. The Lord calls us to a high standard.

Sins of omission are not sins we don't realise we have done, they are things we should have done and have not [omitted] done, as in the goats when Jesus judged between the sheep and goats. Mathew 25.

Jesus saved everyone a lot of time by prescribing the Lord's Payer as sufficient for his followers, both for daily recitation and for profound reflection. "THY Will be done" -- the Lord's will -- is the bottom line of all prayer: it is the Christian's way or accepting that his own will, preferences, desires, hopes, etc are nothing, and the Lord's will is everything -- literally. Jesus included a mention of "our DAILY bread" because he expected the prayer to be recited daily, as a way of expressing love and submission to the Lord. in the hope that he will provide the means necessary to sustain you that day. For today is all we have; the past is gone; the future is not yet, but today, now, is what is left.

Laurie, may I respectfully offer a small correction: I believe your explanation of "sins of commission" is correct - when we do something we know to be wrong. But the meaning of a sin of OMISSION is when we know that we should do something, but we fail to do it (eg, thanking God when He has blessed us). I base this on James 4:17 - "Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin." What you are calling a sin of omission has an example in Leviticus 5:17 - "If a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, still he is guilty and will bear his punishment."
