Life Is Strange games always seem to pop up in periods of my life where I needed a reminder on something. I love all of them for different reasons but True Colours really got me on the notion of time and healing. That eventually there is some good when you use it through the bad and you don't even notice the transiton. Eventually just stop for a moment, look around and realise where you are now. So beautiful.

I love this game but playing it recently after my best friend just passed away gave me even more appreciation for it. I love that it’s so much about grief and the different ways people deal with grief. It’s been very comforting during this time.

I couldn't even get through LIS2. I love this one though- here's a few reasons why: 1) There are sweet and fun moments that made me smile like the LARP and spring festival. It was emotional but not draining or depressing. 2)The environment was so pretty! The animation has definitely improved (of course this is due to time too) 3)I like the characters way better in this one than in the other games (sorry but Chloe is a terrible friend and pretty much everyone is unpleasant in the original game and before the storm).

I loved how realistic and relatable Alex was. Story-wise the progression is great, but it could have been longer. As a reporter myself I enjoyed how the three friends really dive into the investigative aspects of studying the mining company.

I lost my best friend as soon as I finished Episode 2. I knew how heavy this game would be so I stayed off of it for a few weeks. Then a month after my best friend died, my dad died too. I didnt think I would ever finish this game but I am so glad I did including the DLC. I sold my PS5 after finishing this title as I believe there won't be a better experience for awhile but also because I just want to LIVE more. For the sake of my friend and my dad. I just want to LIVE. P.S. I also love this game's soundtrack!

2 is still the best in the series for me. This game is easily my least favorite out of the 3 main games. It was ok but at times, it felt like there was a whole lot of filler. And the episodes were pretty short. Not worth the price that I paid for, in my opinion.

I agree, LiS 2 was a masterpiece in my opinion, I felt True Colours was the weakest of the 3 mainline games and I honestly felt the first chapter of True Colours could’ve been the worst episode of any of the games

LIS 2 was a step in the right direction. An increase of maturity on it's themes and tone. True Colors is a step ahead and a step back. In the technical aspect is splendid but in terms of story and characters aside from Alex is pretty mediocre. And the plot it's just LIS 1 all over again but with different characters and a different town.

My husband has been a fan of LiS since the first game. He’s played all 3 and I watched him play a majority of each of them. This style of game is one that’s always grabbed my interest, but it wasn’t until True Colors that I fell in love. By vibes only, I enjoyed this game, but two weeks ago I decided to spend a weekend and play the game for myself. I had forgotten a majority of the story, but just wanted the vibes of Haven Springs. The story shook me. Alex’s journey throughout the game is beautiful. I’ve now played the game 3 times and watched a few playthroughs (including yours). Alex’s story hits hard and your choices can enrich the game but don’t change Alex’s character arc and that SHE is the focus of the game. Your review is one of the few out there that I feel like GETS it. Thanks for loving this beautiful game.

Thanks for your opinion, LaZ. Played this game with my girlfriend and really had a fun time with the choices and the emotional reads. Spoilers to those that have not finished the game . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I kinda already called Jed being the main antagonist of the game, mainly because of how LiS1 gave us the Jefferson twist, as they both were portrayed as a high standard towards their one location, to me it was obvious. Girlfriend was quite mad, but hey, sometimes it hurts to be right (lucky) lmao.

I love all three games I've played (bts,lis and tc) but I think I know why this one is preferred and that has to do with relatability. People can only relate to max so much. We don't know much about her past only that she was childhood best friends with Chloe and moved away for 5 years. We know who she cares about and her interests but not much else. That makes it a lot harder for people who aren't teenage girls to relate to her. With Chloe and Rachel it's similar but a little better. We know their backstories and it helps to understand them on a deeper level and know why they act the way that they do. However their relationships with each other are what's most important not anyone else and that's not very relatable or even realistic that we would only connect to a few people in our lifetime. Don't get me wrong I actually love Chloe more than most people because her character is the most fleshed out compared to the rest of them but she still has her flaws. Like how at the end of bts she has reconciled with David and her mom but in LiS it's almost as if nothing changed, if anything their relationship got worse and that didn't make sense to me. And again like max, unless ur a teenage girl there are aspects of chloes character that aren't as relatable or understandable. With true colors all these issues are fixed. Everyone can relate to alex a lot more than they can with rachel, max and even Chloe. everyone has gone through challenges in our lives that we didn't think we'd overcome. we all want to belong. we also try to build strong relationships with the people around us because it is within human nature to have empathy for others. Alex is more relatable because everyone has experienced what she's gone through in one way or another. That's just my personal take on it but I 100% agree with everything said in this video! I wish ppl didn't hate on this game so much cuz it's fantastic.

There were certainly memorable moments in TC... I just finished playing and enjoyed the town of Haven and the Chen family story most of all! But to call it the best LiS game? I just don't think so... the first LiS featured a cast of characters that changed with the main character as she grew; a mystery that expanded and twisted as the episodes went on; plenty of areas to explore, etc. But TC... characters changed not as much through the main character's actions as the narrative moving forcing things along and things happening off screen in between chapters; a more predictable mystery thanks to sudden shifts in tone; only a tiny, repeating slice of one town to walk around (making it very difficult to believe it could ever be based in reality), etc. TC did however the best character dialogue of the series, hands down... "Wow Max, you're hardcore--AMAZEballs!" Lol, yea, don't miss that from the first LiS 😅. That all being said, yours is a good video where your feelings shine through--to each their own, I suppose!

I’m so happy this game came to game pass and I gave it a shot. I originally played the first two episodes of LiS1 and found the general dialogue irritating and it just wasn’t for me, skipped Before the Storm and played through 2 and enjoyed it enough to finish it, but that was about it. So when I seen the True Colours trailer I quickly wrote it off and didn’t give it much of a chance. Maybe that made the enjoyment of the game that much better because it had nothing to prove in my eyes and in turn gave me an incredible experience with an excellent cast of characters. Your video summed it up super nicely and I remembered when you originally released this video, so when I finished the game it was the first thing I wanted to watch.

This was the best Life is Strange game I've played. I did not enjoy the first two (only played 20 minutes of the second game), but loved this one. I have some issues with it like the reveal of what Typhon were doing being very underwhelming for me and the whole mystery/detective side wasn't as interesting as I would have hoped, but the characters were brilliant. Alex was an amazing protagonist and none of the dialogue in this game felt wooden or cringe like the other games. I really hope they continue this story in a second season somehow because i feel like there is so much more to unpack that was kind of shoved to the side. (Ryan's reaction to Jed, Charlotte's anger, Eleanor's dementia etc.)

I will *always* love the original Life is Strange. I was going through some really tucked up shit at the point in my life when the game originally came out. (I also was still exploring and learning about my gender identity and sexual orientation, so the representation in the games has always meant a lot to me for that reason, too.) I liked Before the Storm, as well, but LiS 2 never really did it for me. I just recently played True Colors for the first time and I absolutely loved it. I think it's my favorite in the franchise so far, too. The way it portrayed empathy, trauma, being a foster kid, all of that... it was so... real. And it helped me further my own healing in a way. Along with the original, I think it's a game I'll still love and do more play throughs of years from now.

I'm in the same boat, played the first one but never the dlc back when it came out, when 2 came out I kept up with the first two episodes, couldn't get into it, I've recently completed the remastered version so 1 and bts, tried 2 again got further but meh, true colors tho I'm loving it

My opinions of the games Life is strange 1: fantastic plot, good main characters, lacking side characters, crap romance options-one sided Life is strange 2:plot is lacking- feels it doesn’t know where it is going, side characters feel pointless as it moves so fast past them, great main characters Life is strange 3; fantastic plot, fantastic characters, fantastic romance aspect- feels balanced, beautiful meaning, fantastic setting

I love the OG and true colours the best I do like before the storm but I don’t really like the build up and the ending as it was anticlimactic and didn’t like lis2. In the OG I didn’t really care for max but loved Chloe but in true colours I really liked Alex and obviously Steph and Ryan but the difference is I care for the main protagonists in this story

I liked LiS2 but feel that some of the scenes feel out of place in the story well that and the story felt rushed like really rushed as if Don't Nod wanted to get it over with. The only problem with True Colors is that it's not episodic and you can play the game in one sitting which doesn't really give you time to take in each chapter before playing the next

I loved this game so much. Thank you for this review! I have powerful empathy and playing this helped me a little honestly, not feel so alone in my emotions. It was cool to see this perspective in a world without much empathy at all. I haven't played any of the other Life is Strange games, but am willing to dive in to more. Do wish this game was longer. Maybe it isn't for everyone, but so happy it was created so other empathic beings can enjoy exploring their gifts. (Also it's nice to believe people can create impactful change if they work together)

I really wonder how People like this game. To me, as a big fan of the other life is strange games, this true colors is a big dissapointment. Why? Sloppy story, the way every episode abruptly ends getting me all out of the feels of the game, very short and no impact of events, there is not really a different ending possible except no important differences in detail. I really feel like there is a big team of sponsors out here promoting this game, because while I believe People have different tastes, this game is just trash and nothing else.... hope the next game will be good.
