A WW1 FPS game set in Italian front from 1915 to 1917 with weapons include pistols, rifles, melee, machine guns, and other experimental weapons.
The game is now almost a year old ever since September 13 was released back in last year. I was being so negative to this game and I have to so I can make the devolopers listen. They're sometimes listens because I'm apparently the only KZbinr who actively makes WW1 videos, consistantly. Why? Because Isonzo changes, a lot. Not only adding new content, but their weapon animations changes. That's why I keep making them so the devolopers and myself can look back at it to see how the guns evolve. I'm very passionate on this game. But oh boi, it's getting better and better.
Let's get to the new map Piana. This is Dolomiti's next level as part of Mountain War offensive. Ya know? The famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks of Lavaredo) mountains that you often seen in my Isonzo videos. Everyone agreed that it's the best map for scenery. But Piana is now at the opposite side of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. I have to say, I feel like I've predicted where the new map is going to take place by literally facing the Monte Piana just right from the three peaks. While it's a short map, it's much more flatter than Dolomiti and Carso maps. It would make sharpshooting more easier for both side that the cover is pretty much nonexistant unless hiding behind the pointy monument and the shacks in the Austrian side.
Getting the new weapon animations for the enbloc clip rifles, they were originally impossible to do a tactical reload. Before this update, I did see in the Discord server that a user posted a video of that. I thought it was a mod, but holy shit they actually made it happen. I didn't really expected to happen as I thought they would only add a new map. So what do I think of this change? There's some good and bad. The good is that both Italians and Austrians can now tactically reload like the Germans which it makes easier for non-rifleman class. The animations are pretty mediocre because bullets do appear out of nowhere, which they can do nothing about it, and viewmodel arms are very spaghetti feeling. No pun intended for the mama mia Italians lol. Bad part is it's rather easily exploitable that canceling the tactical reload is faster than letting the animations play out. But other than the flaws, it's a welcome edition to this game. Sure Blackmill Games could have updated these new reloads for Verdun and Tannenberg, but remember this is Isonzo being a significantly new game from these two. I know that sucks, but they make a lot of bad decisions on spliting the game from their greedy ass.
Also for the mauser rifles, when there's only 1 bullet left the reload delays too stretched than the empty reload. I get the devolopers are mimicking the reload style from Battlefield 1, but I am definately not including this for my full reload showcase. They should fix this.
Also on the note because the enbloc clip rifles can now tactically reload, at least for the Italians, it would make Vetterli-Vitali rifle even more useless consider it only has 4 shots compared to Carcanos and Vetterlis having 6 shots. For Austrians and Germans, only for non-rifleman class, this is useful for them as they should save their reserved ammo than to waste them.
Overall I like the update. A new small map to celebrate their first anniversary and new reload animations. I have to say, the game is improving on content. Would I say it's for endless gameplay? No. But if you're a die hard history fan like me, give it a go.
