@@gideonmele1556 I mean, I only see two ways to transpose hoi4 into stellaris: 1) Take the dominant world power, make them a stellaris empire. Kinda boring, and basically just a normal game as a generic human empire (not really a megacampaign at this point) . 2) try to somehow map the earth onto the galaxy. Way wack, way abstract (losing most of the point of a mega campaign). Everyone starting fully formed also kills the exploration/expansion fun of Stellaris. Besides, hoi4 usually ends with 1-3 people annexing/puppetting everything so probably very unbalanced. I'm probably reading way too much into this.

@@AM-we1es The 1st way is how most people do it. They tend to include aspects of their empire in each game (ie. Really expansionistic? Probably militarist xenophobe. Were they communist at the end of the game? Probably a dictatorship with Shared Burdens).

I don't think that this was exactly a "fall" as the title puts it. Shang cores weren't lost and I don't think we ever thought of China as integral to Shang stability. Beyond the revolts at the start, there was never really any instability in the empire and Shang stayed at the top of the Great Powers list for the entire game. I see this more as a rebirth of the Shang Empire, shifting focus away from the old East and towards the new West. Think about it, we barely saw any major developments in China except for the rise of Shanghai. Most of the focus was pointed towards conflicts in Europe and North America. This is exemplified through the Empire's allies, colonial efforts, and interventions. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

They abandoned more than half of their 'territories' to their increasingly autonomous eastern states, so that's technically a fall, but I agree, by giving up on the Eastern Empire they were able to make sure the Western Empire was rock hard and able to carve out a moderately sized colonial empire as well as secure Yunnan and part of Guanxi over their Indian core lands.

As a pro tip for your first social reform @ 8:26, you should take "Transportation" ASAP because with converters you undoubtedly start with a lot of "protectorates" instead of proper states depending on the autonomy in EU4 (or at least this is how it worked a few years ago), so you want to transport POPs from your stated / core states into the colonial ones to get your administrative efficiency up in those states and eventually convert them from protectorates into proper states. Going for Transportation early on is also great, as it hugely helps with colonizing any colonial provinces you own, which will come in very useful later on in the game (especially if you go with liberal gameplay - high consciousness, low militancy)

It came in the right time to me Since you are playing China, in my last run in vic2. I was playing Brasil with a lot of land from africa, so i had a lot menpower, and i tried to conquer some stuff from china, but they were already westernized, in the first war inwas winning but they still did not want to peace out, i only needed 10 points and i had 26 or something, in the next war i could not win, they mobilized something like 700 troops and my maximum were 200, winning battle after battle and nothing chaging, still winning with 26 or so, and china not wanting peace this time ai was smart, they had all the advantage, in my next game i will eat china before they westernized, i was playing GFM, i don't know of china explodes when they do it in GFM.

You know, Italy which totally does not encompass the cores of the East and West Roman Empire and thus totally is not Rome and would never think of itself as Rome surely. Well Italy thus is the most powerful state in Europe by far and it's possible they look West at the weak Gauls and Hispania, or even Egypt and think that these would be good and completely rightful historical recoveries. Also it seems like one of the few ways you possibly could create an extremely powerful European state that could challenge or upset anything that happens in the lands of Shang.
