@@StrangerDanger352 I think why digital signals are converted to analog signals is because the internet is using the phone-line infrastructure in order to send messages. Rather than building a whole new infrastructure to send messages from one computer to another, they use the existing phone line infrastructure. Phone line infrastructure uses analog signals to send messages. There are also new infrastructures built for the internet such as like Google Fiber Optics, which instead converts digital signals to light signals.

I've grown up always knowing the word modem, but not once did I ever think it was just the words MOdulation and DEModulation combined. I've never heard someone use the words modem and modulation in a sentence together until this video, but I think that's because of how old it is. There's a wealth of information to learn from these old videos because the instructors have to actually understand every piece of the puzzle and not just "connect the cables/restart" as you see with modern IT people. Also speaks a tone on the difference between a good and okay teacher, comprehension vs knowledge.
