It always makes me humbled how emotional MMA fighters get when they get promoted in BJJ. I remember Tyron Woodley winning another UFC belt when he submitted Darren Till and he was nonchalant about it. And when his BJJ coach gave him a black belt he broke down crying in the cage. They often have more of a reaction to the BJJ belt than the world championship UFC belt. Good stuff!

I always say, for someone that has a martial arts background, specially wrestling, they go through a highway once they start training BJJ. For the other mortals, we go through every stop sign trying to learn. ENJOY YOUR JORNEY!!!! Never compare. Be happy and consistent. Remember, COMPARISON IS THE MOTHER OF UNHAPPINESS!!!

Let’s be honest, if you do BJJ you know how incredible it is to get to purple belt. I’ve personally witnessed a good training partner of mine cry when he got his as well. It’s a huge honor.
