“Taking a risk” ?? What was he risking? Props to Jan for taking the risk. He was put in a no-win situation. If he loses, he loses to a guy 20 lbs lighter than him. If he wins, it’s like - “meh... he won against a guy 20 lbs lighter”. So first, it wasn’t a risk for Izzy. And second, this is not preschool competition where you get props for taking a risk .... we should just conclude that Izzy is not as good as Jan ... that’s about it, no need to glorify his loss. I like how he took the loss. Not making excuses like Paula Costa. But a loss it is. He was in no-pressure situation and still lost.

@@dvogoldenruleflow it was a good fight, but, it literally could have went either way on the score cards imo. If they would have said Izzy won, I would have felt like it was deserved, if Jan won it would have been deserved. I personally thought Izzy pushed the pace a lot more, took less damage, was much more fresh - I don’t like that a take down (when you basically just lay on someone) gets you so many points in the judges eyes. I felt like Jan took Izzy down because he was tired and knew he could lay on him and do minimal work and steal the round. However, that’s a veteran move so, I guess we’ll played Jan. Jan is a good human being though.

@@sergeantfirstclassb4998 Izzy got good shots then Jan was going for the takedown as a defense mechanism. In short: Jan might have known Izzy gotta make weight, so he as a normal 205 can easily grow bigger for the fight time to have that mental effect on Izzy. Izzy can win if he feels comfortable at becoming larger than 205 to become champ at 205. But hey he is THE KING of 185. I believe him, he has got hearts for his parents, i can see that in him!

Honestly Adesanya is good but the diff. In size and weight just made him unable to withstand the takedowns. Well he can manage to evade it easily in his division but here I think its impossible for israel. Israel can surely wipe whole lightheavyweight division if only if all fights were stand up. But nah he came to the wrong division. He may be able to easily withstand takedowns from middleweight but not in lightheavyweight. So in conclusion I cant see adesanya winning in light heavy weight if he does not improve his ground and pound cause surely everyone will maul him down. Cause no one will fight this guy standing up.

Size is definitely a factor here. If he chooses to compete there, any LHW who's a wrestler and grappler will remember this loss and see it as an opportunity to bully him onto the mat and keep him there. I had it 48-47 for Jan, an impressive, and intelligent performance from him, and obviously a seemingly great human being... Izzy handled the loss in total class, took very little damage and will still smoke every 185er y’all can find, don't ever get it twisted.

An elite wrestler at 185 that manages to implement their wrestling always has a chance. There are bad match ups for adesanya out there believe it or not. Jan is not an elite wrestler, he’s good but it’s not his base and he managed to control adesanya easily. That could be due to size and strength alone though. For sure, adesanya is still a puzzle to solve he’s an incredible fighter no doubt
