The "innocent civilian Palestinians" were active partners of Hamas to take and keep hostages. That's one of the many reasons why Hamas can't give an accounting of how many hostages are still alive. Israel's minimized demand on the release of twenty hostages signals that there may not be any more of them still alive. Are there any of them still alive? Hamas does not know where they are and who holds them, I guess. Their negotiation is a scam.
