I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.” Zechariah 12:3 On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. Israel made the mistake long ago of offering the Arabs bargains in prisoner exchanges. 1000 arabs for 1 Israeli. That raised Hamas' belief that with little effort they could empty Israeli jails and that taking hostages would always be worth their while. The future security and existence of the State of Israel is sadly worth more than hostage exchanges. This will enrage those with compassion in their hearts but sacrificing the nation to avoid the sacrifice of the poor unfortunate hostages may seem a moral thing to do but in the long run and in the light of history in the future, it is painfully not the moral choice. No one has the courage to say this.
