Five days into Operation Northern Arrows, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Government succeeds in eliminating Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The leader of the Lebanon-based Hezbollah was killed in an airstrike at the group's headquarters in southern Beirut on Friday, 27 September. It follows an unprecedented intelligence-based operation on 17 and 18 September in which pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah fighters exploded simultaneously in Lebanon and Syria, killing more than 30 people and injuring 3,000. Netanyahu says his goal is to enable Israelis to return to their homes near the Blue Line along the Lebanon border. How will Hezbollah respond? Will it pull back north of the Litani river?
