It's time to end this war once and for all. Far too many innocent people have died on both sides. As an Irish person who lived through "the troubles" I'm ashamed to say I hated those on the opposite side to me but that's how I was brought up by my family and local community, just as they were brought up to hate me and mine. The Irish conflict dated back hundreds of years and so we had little or no hope for a resolution - but then came the Good Friday Agreement. The grace shown by both sides, whose beliefs were entrenched, eventually resulted in acceptance, peace and security for all. I'm so happy and thankful for their bravery, especially as my most loved friends and relatives are those who I would have once hated and damned. We are one people before a one God and I wish the same for the Israeli and Palestinian people.
