We would get excuses like our coal was wet (because of rain) as a reason for the loadshedding. All the while, I find out that our coal was going to Israel. We've been having loadshedding since 2008/2009. This year is going much better though.

Shir Hever is great at explaining not only whaat is going on in Palestine, but he also paints such clarifying images of different side effects and the different societies and countries involved in such a complex matter! I knew some of it because i've always been interested in the Palestine Cause and the implications in general politics, but he certainly makes very good points who anyone can understand even if they did not know about it till the #GenocideInGaza . I also agree with his opinion on why Germany is aiding this and also opressing Pro-Palestines activists. A very interesting interview.

As a South African I have to say Apartheid is not gone. Political freedom without economic freedom keeps the power structures in place. The same is true for liberation struggles for independence against Colonialism. Africa has been kept in place by and large by IMF, world Bank and Western neo colonialism.

I was traveling in 1991 and met an Israeli who was also a long time traveler. I asked him how could travel so much given I heard that Israelis all had to serve in the military. He said he faked crazy and it absolved him from that service. He only was in Israel a few months a year working at his brother's ice cream parlor to finance his travels.
