Hela Ben youssef didn’t mean to insult your ethnicity; I apologize if it came off that way. Just kinda tired of a lot of the stuff I read on here. Arabs really need to check the things they write about Israelis; respect is a 2 way street. The last thing any Israeli wants is to “be Arab” or whatever they claim; vast majority of Israelis grandparents escaped Arab countries (where they lived even before Arabs took over those countries) and don’t appreciate being gaslit and told that their cultures are “actually Arab”. If Arabs want Israelis, mostly Mizrahi, to respect them, they need to show the proper respect in return.

mona ali hahaha ok. Israeli is a nationality; Israelis are Arab, Mizrahi, etc. Likewise, Palestinian is also a nationality; Palestinians come from several ethnicities including Bosnian, Uzbek, etc. So the idea that Arabs, who came to Israel centuries after Jews were already there wanna claim the regions’ food as theirs is pathetic but not surprising. Arabs do like to claim a bunch of things as “theirs” even when the indigenous people they murdered in order to claim those people’s culture is hilarious. If you are in Tel Aviv you must try Buchari food in this place called Merkaz Asia on 41 Mesilat Yesharim street. It’s minutes away from the central bus station. Go there on Friday morning. OMG! It’s like to die and go to heaven. It’s not even a restsurant, but a shop. They have their old grandma in the back cooking real traditional Ozbeki food. Just ask them to make you a plate with samples from everything. Not expensive and DELICIOUS!!!! It’s also Kosher.

Ok there are some misconseptions in the comments saying "Oh it's all arab food" "none is jewish food" ect ect, so let's explain: 1. misconseption 1, "it's arab food" this isn't arabic but MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD, there is also Koskos (from North Africa Marroco) and other middle eastern dishes in israel that is beacuse 60% of Israelis (like me) come from middle eastern countries, to say that "it isn't the Israeli food" is like saying "it's not the arab jews/christins food" but that's the thing, IT IS our food exactly like it's yours and like it's the other minorities in your countries food (for example christians Egyptions are eating middle eastern food like fallafel, you can't excllude them and say "it's only for muslim arabs" that's just racist, it's their food as well), the same goes for us, jews from arab countries, this has been our traditional dishes just as much it was yours. 2. misconseption 2: "there is no Israeli food it's all arab" Israeli food =/= arab food beacuse of "Kosher" laws jews had to change middle eastern food over centureis and make their own variation and dishes in order to be able to eat it, that's why many dishes are vegetarian becuse it was hard to get Kosher meat in the past so jews just didn't eat a lot of meat, for example there is an arab dish called "Mankosha" jews can't eat becuse it's a mix of diary and meat with seafruits all of which are NOT kosher but are Halal, so arab jews have their own diffrent "Mankosha" recepןe made from Salomon Fish (which apper A LOT in jewish food) and diffrent vagtebles. jews also can't eat camals and other animals arab can which are "Halal" but not "Kosher", that's why they changed the dishes, the taste is diffrent as well, they are even made diffrently in order to be Kosher, even the all known "Fallafel" of israelis isn't the same as the one of Egyptions, Egyptions make it from mainly "Fuol" beans when Israeli use Humos. 3. misconseption 3 "those are just Ashcenazi/ Erupean jews stealing arab food" No, this is a tradistional arab-jews food not some European people "taking" arab food, I'm speaking from expirince being a mizrahi jew myself, yes, our food is closly related, but that's beacuse we did *live in the same place,* we do share vary similar cultures and we do have a lot in coomen and *jews' like my ancestors, lived thousends of years with arabs,* but still it's not the same, just like every middle eastern country has similar dishes to the rest (I mean every middle eastern is complaning that "Knahfa" belongs to his country and every single one of Middle eastern countries also makes it diffrent as if it's a completly diffrent dish), Israel is the same since as I said, 60% of Israel are origanaly middle eastern jews, like me, we have diffrent dishes that all are "middle eastern" food. so it is Israeli arab jewish food :) there is also Israeli ashcenazi, russian, and even spanish ones (and even peruani, Indian, Etiopian and ect) so no, ashcenazi jews have their own food they don't need to "steal" yours, many Youtyobers sadly come to Israel and eat just street fast food and don't expiriance all the diffrent food this country has, (for example, when did you ever find a youtuber that went to an Etiopian traditional jewish resterunt? or eat an Iraqi jews "Kuba"? or any traditional ashcenazi food at all?) most of what they eat is the fast food which, sadly is just the iceberg of the difrent dishes in Israel, so if you come to Israel take my advide, you might never be able to eat the the big variaty of jewish traditional food here but at list try to eat the main ones of every community, it's not that hard, just type "jews from ----" (Iran/Iraq/Poland/India/Etiopia) "food" and you can have an expirince you probebly won't have everywhere else, till this day the ONLY youtuber that ever did it was Corry (from "ask" chunnal" but it doesn't count since he is Israeli. thanks, sorry for the rent!

Our video guy is a little confused but it’s funny and cute. I had a recipe from my Persian Jewish grandpa and made it for an Israeli friend. It was same type pan Shakshuka!❤❤❤🇮🇱🇺🇸

Non of these foods are really Israeli food.. there is only one true Israeli food the cottage cheese which sucks Imo, there is one more interesting dish which is considered Israeli but only few heard of it, originally this dish was invented by Georgian Jews and was made only by them. When Georgian Jews came to the holy land they brought this dish with them it's called "Chechamandy" and it's basically a thick soup based on Tamarind, rice, spices and meat. It's a delicious dish best served with fresh bread out of the oven.

Well the man who says it is an Israeli, even if he's an Arab, he's an Israeli citizen...so not really, still Israeli food.

@goofyp Ilm First of all, who is "we"? who made you the spokesman of all Israeli-Arabs? second, If you identify as a Palestinian, then relinquish your Israeli citizenship and move to the west bank, Mahmoud Abbas claims the Palestinians only demands a state within the 67 lines, so move to your country inside those lines, you have the option, but I have a feeling you're not going to do so, just like the rest of the Israeli-Arabs who identify as "Palestinians" but have no problem with living inside Israel, getting equal rights, health-care and other civil benefits from Israel.

Obviously, it's cultural appropriation to describe most of these foods as "israeli" regardless of political leanings/opinions. We grew up eating those foods, we learned to cook them from our grandmas and they learned it from theirs and so on...We have stories about the foods/their names and their origins. And you can find variations of them all over the Arab world as well, because it's our heritage and it's one of the first things we learn to appreciate as kids. The comments mainly targeted the politics behind it when it's not even related to that. Food is food, and most foods are tied to cultures and there is always history behind them. You wouldn't see an American eating "Indian/Chinese or whatever food" and gloating about how much they love and have pride in American food.. In my town for example we are known for our olive trees and oil, humus and we have a lot of falafel joints that are mostly still operated by the great grandkids of the original owners.. I refuse to call it Israeli food, if people don't like it then, I also don't care if they don't wanna call it Palestinian food. But ultimately it's Arabic/Palestinian cuisine and it will always be that way.

@@E_y_a_l They don't get any benefits they get killed and locked even children I swear, if you want to name it Israel it is your opinion but don't say this is Israel food it is arabic. that is the point ( plastinnias lived here for over a 1000 years and you say that it is your country,it does not make since )
