My great uncle used to go to Iran during the time of the shah to help them with oil refineries and the process of refining. He spoke of a beautiful place and he loved going there often and staying with friends. He’s king gone but his stories painted a contrast to the oppressive jihadi mindset that infects it now. I hope and pray the shah can succeed there and modernize thought there. Iran could be the next Germany or Japan. A place that was our enemy but now a dear friend. It has to come from within though.
