This is my Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Or Encens Review. Or Encens by Issey Miyake Fragrance Review video. I bought Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Or Encens on my recent trip to Europe because I really enjoyed the scent. It's a great niche quality designer release for not a lot of money if you compared it to fragrances from the Tom Ford Private Blend collection for example. The 100ml cost around $150 so you do the math comparing it to Tom Ford Private Blend Collection fragrances. I purchased Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Noir Ambre last year and I really enjoyed that release. I really liked Or Encens when I tried at the duty free here in Lisbon and actually I prefer it to Noir Ambre. But, to me, it's not over €100 that good. Although it's a better quality scent compared to the average designer scent, it has still that designer dna of L'eau Issey, which is not bad at all, but just not worth the price tag. Great review, as always! 😊

Got my Noir Ambre about a week ago and upon the first try I nearly threw the bottle away because I had a slight headache. Wore it the next day and trust me I really enjoyed it. The longevity is perfect. The performance is pretty good and it's going to be my signature scent for long. Very unique and interesting

I have been steering clear of Issey Miyake because I have not heard a lot of good things about the house. I do love incense, by the way. I currently do not have an Amber fragrance. My favorite incense fragrance is Interlude Man. So I will bow to your expertise on these two and give them a chance. I would love to try them both because of the incense and leather notes. They are also unavailable in Poland, so the distribution is quite strange. I will check on the airport next time. My favourite amber scent is Ambre Fétiche by Annick Goutal and also Dunhill Pursuit. The favourite incense scent will be Comme des Garcons 2 Man and Gucci pour Homme, I also like Encre Noire A L`Extreme by Lalique and two cheappies: Body Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent and Azzaro Visit. I live in Poland.

Have tried Or Encens once and was not blown away and finding it hard to recall how it smells like. Never tried the Noir Ambre. Must admit that I am not a fan of incense or Amber heavy scents but I do love ADG Profumo (incense). US (to save you some shipping fees 😄). Thanks!

Never heard of these two but I do like the minimalistic look of the bottles and the notes composition in both. These two are definitely on my future to try list. Hi. Great video as always sir. I am a big fan of the Issey Miyake house. I also agree that designers have that flanker crutch which in some respects may be a detriment to the scent. I would say my favorite incense fragrance is Interlude Man by Amouage (which has amber as well). My favorite amber fragrance is Montale's Honey Aoud. Oh and I live in the US (Georgia). My favorite amber so far is probably Ambre Russe by Parfum d'Empire. My favorite incense is tough, but I own Hinoki by Comme des Garcons, but there are several good ones like Avignon, Kyoto, Cardinal, and Resonance by Provision. I'm in the USA.

Canada - fav amber is Ambre Nuit and Incense is....Aqva Amara. I know - a total cop out. lol Really enjoyed the review Sebastian. But I wonder...does the average consumer really care about the name anymore? I mean, the title "L'eau D'issey" might as well be a signature, with the name of the fragrance really being Or Encens. With everything basically being online these days, I suppose the added signature maximizes the chances of getting noticed (SEO). It could also be one of the reasons why companies are using similar adjectives like "L'homme", "Eau Fraiche", "Noir" and "Absolu". Thoughts?

One of the best incense I have smelled is Armani Prive incense satin I think it's called. I had a sample of it. Truly different and very Appealing. And Amber has to be my favorite note and I like Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soir. I have a lot more to get my nose on. Hopefully Dior ambre nuit and Tom Ford Amber Absolute. It's hard for me to get excited about all these L'Eau d'Issey flankers...especially since I haven't been all that impressed with the many of their more recently releases in this lineup. And yes, they need to get off the L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme moniker and start releasing some of these on their own. Cheers.

This was always sort of a 'meh' huouse for me, and couldn't agree more regarding flankers (I think a lot of houses cheap out and don't want to produce new bottles when they can use the same old bottles of their previous lines) but thanks for introducing this one, it seems intriguing(along with Noir Ambre)

The first two I love but I don't consider them incense fragrances. I think the incense takes a back seat to me and is a supporting player. It's there but it's not about the incense! I don't know the third one unfortunately! :(

I've been wanting to try some more of the Issey flankers. I looove the original, and Intense was wonderful when I sampled it. Of incense fragrances, Al Rehab's Al Sharquiah is actually among my favorites. Not sure about amber. Ambre Nuit would be up there though, but I might pick Obsession for Men. Have some great memories with that one. EDIT: Scratch that, how could I forget Prada's Amber (both for men and women)? I loooove both. Those would probably be my top ambers. I'm in Chicago IL, USA

i tried Or Encens couple of days ago and i was really excited before i smell it, but i guess it's not for me. To my nose, there's sth in the blend that makes it really "cold" (and not in a good way). i like Noir Ambre much better. i also tried another one called "L`Eau Majeure d’Issey", which , to my nose, was an exact copy of Echo by Davidoff (only with better longevity). fav amber: Dior's Ambre Nuit fav incense: Laudano Nero and i live in Iran (i think you alredady knew!)

I would love to come across these scents and likely will not, from the information in your review. My all time favorite incense scent is the original Aedes de Venustas. Next to that, Casbah is pretty damned fine on a Sunday afternoon or any day for that matter. And my amber go to is Robert Graham's Valour - thanks to you. Well nothing really. I am just sick and tired of literally every fragrance house coming out with yet another oud, incense, and "parfum" fragrances. Most of them get it horribly wrong but won't stop doing exactly what their competitors are doing and following the trend instead of innovating and bringing out new unique exciting stuff. SMH
