Sir why Constitutions are written in federation state?

For a federation to function in tandem with founding principles and envisioned ideals of its founding fathers, it has to play in line with the rule book that's a constitution, authored after a labour-intensive process whilst taking into account popular aspirations. Ergo, the guidebook serves as a guiding light in an instance of crisis. In that, it directs those at the helm of affairs to carve a way out of a given volatile situation in a manner as required without crossing the red lines. Take, for instance, the example of the US. The country's founding fathers deemed it mandatory to have at their disposal something tangible and in written form so as to never get deviated by any means. 2)- When available in written form, it won't allow a handful cohorts to play by the rule and manipulate regulations as per their loaves and fishes without having on board populace's aspirations. 3)- For when it needed amendment, a legal and constitutional path would be followed via holding parliamentary debates by the ones nominated by nationals for the same. Thus, to avert rule by the law in favour of rule of the law, a federation can ill-afford to skip having social contract in written. 4)- Written is legal, and everything else, however credible and tangible, doesn't summon credence.

Besides, if you're studying International Law, consider Positivist approach vis-à-vis legality of documents. According to this school of thought, for a document or policy framework to stand as a part of or become law, itself, it must have to be in written format.
