This beautiful City is a former shell of what it used to be in the 80s. High unemployment and it’s main attractions ( jewelry/gemstones) has dwindled. The pedestrian zone in Oberstein is mainly deserted and Idar’s pedestrian zone was never a tourist spot to begin with. Regardless, it remains a beautiful place with the best spiessbraten I’ve ever had
