What a lot of these clips show to me, is that the difference between a top-line ref and an everyday amateur ref is the ability to recognise out-of-the-ordinary events when they happen, and having the cojones to react appropriately. So many of these tackles don't get the red cards they should, because the ref is just completely caught unawares by them.
@grumpyref

You get what you pay for, really. These hack and slash players/leagues don't much about many of the challenges we see, so the better referees leave. The abuse that is allowed to go on is ridiculous, so better referees leave. The pay and time invested aren't worth the BS.

When I was 20 I had my leg broken in a severe, yet legal, tackle, because the 'keeper and the defender went for the ball at the same time. It just so happened that my leg was in the middle. I still scored, but on reflection, the year I spent in hospital and the multiple operations somewhat dampened that achievement. It's a contact sport, after all, so you have to expect an injury or two.

Hopefully u healed well bro, when I was 19 I was playing for my local club, and being from England I was playing in 2 divisions lower then the national league which is like the last league of pro football before it goes to semi pro and shit the lower you go, so I was part time on a weekend and didn’t get paid and I got my studs stuck in the ground while trying to spin away from a defender and the RB came flying in my slide tackled me and he completely snapped my ankle I wasn’t able to walk for 6 months he really did some damage and now 15 years on From that it still hurts me know and then when I move my ankle around, honestly as a younger player it’s dangerous playing in these types of matches glad you still scored tho 😂😂

So many should have been easy red cards... These fools won't learn until they get punished by either suspensions or kicked out of the league. At least 7:38 seemed to genuinely care about the keeper he injured. Accidents do happen, and I would prefer if that was the player I was up against compared to most of these goons who are out to injure others.

It's really interesting seeing the quality of refereeing in these leagues. Some of the refs decision making are very bad. Majority of the refs aren't speaking to players after bad challenges, especially the dangerous ones, and therefore the tackles continue to escalate. The clip at 1:10 for example. Ref is in a great view, sees what happened, you can see his reaction in his body language as he observes and yet he isn't confident enough to intervene and set a standard for the game, throws a yellow card to everyone involved and calls it a day. If you did that in a Saturday / Sunday game in the UK, you would be off the pitch instantly. Edit : Watch number 8 for the team in white hit the player in his lower face / chest. Straight red.

@grumpyref
@grumpyref 4 ай бұрын
@SavzillaHD you are kidding me, right? These are grown adults who probably aren't going to listen to 10% of what you say, no matter how correct you are. These are also the types of players in many comments saying "never a red" blah, blah. AND teaching and giving misconceptions to the next generation of players who think they know it all. Also, you called out referees in this "league." My response is that this happens all over the world. Both players and referee have misconceptions. Me for instance, I am a grass roots referee, so probably bring my thinking to a semi pro league that player won't like.....

these vids are from Ontario Canada, there is an issue with the referees there for sure. Some of it is because of the influence of ice hockey is my theory. There is a culture in hockey of "let them play" and "the ref shouldn't decide the match" and I think its spilled over to soccer. I think so but I am open to other theories.
