What a fantastic explanation of the misconceptions about Sufism and its significance for the world. It's a bit unfortunate that some of the challenges within Sufism weren’t addressed in depth. Also, the critique of the Nadji could have been more developed. Nevertheless, an amazing video!

As a 69-yo Singaporean, I opine that this lecture/talk is "typically-Singaporean in approach" and or - to always toe the line and be universally politically correct; and or - consciously refusing to offend; (or step on toes of) any one individual, including the MAJORITY of the general English-speaking earthlings (in the west) who are (of course!) non-Muslims. The anomoly is - why didn't any one amongst the audience ALSO asked this Singaporean academic about his opinion, views, or position about what is current, "right here and right now", in Syria, Gaza, Palestine, or Donald Trump. Were/was such edited out? And "regardless, of race, language or religion", earthlings interested in Islamic "history" from conception right up to post WW2's nation states can ride "AI or syekh google or wikipedia"; in endeavors to form that reality of a rational bigger picture on their own. اللهم إني أسألك علما نافعا ورزقا طيبا وعملا متقبلا سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك أشهد أن لا إلٰه إلا أنت أستغفرك وأتوب إليك - الحمد لله - جزاكم الله خيرا - آمين
