Hello richard, very good content and easy to follow. I am trying to follow the video and set up istio on my system, but i see that pods arent getting created with namespace istio-system
@RichardChesterwood4 жыл бұрын
Strange - the namespace is hard baked into the yaml! Where did you get the yaml from? Can you check the contents and confirm whether the istio-system namespace is mentioned?

Hi Richard, I am completely new to istio, just wanted to know, in your latest udemy course, which version of istio you are using ??

In just a day or two the course will be updated for 1.8. It's infuriating, they keep making really trivial changes which don't really alter the principles but often means entire videos have to be re-recorded!

Man why not install Istio on your host machine for dev and demo purposes? Been running on that with my actual cluster in Kind. Works pretty well. Better than running Istio in the cluster in this case imho.

It's true I'm getting a fair few complaints about minikube these days. It doesn't seem to be getting any more stable over time. Only today someone else suggested kind, I will look into that. The reason for minikube was to follow on from my original kubernetes course, but I have the same problems there.

@@RichardChesterwood Yeah I see. Kind is no piece of cake either, I'll have to warn you 😄. Great video by the way! It cleared a lot of stuff for me!
