So you can’t apply right out of US highschool because we only do 4 years? does that mean we would have to do like community college to get all the requirements and then transfer. How does that work i’m still a little bit confused 😅

Yes, you got it! This may confuse you even more, but I want to be honest with you: I had a few 17 year olds in my class - they were all European though so idk if that has anything to do with it, and a lot of people do start at the age of 18 - like, a few of my friends from Canada, Dubai and India. The requirements seriously differ from country to country and it’s very confusing so, I think it would be best for you to send them an email addressing this. I never questioned my advisor since I already met the requirement at the time of my application but it doesn’t hurt to ask. I wish I could help more!🫶🏾

Hi Claire, that’s so exciting! I wish your daughter the best with her fashion career at IM in dubai! As far as my portfolio, as i had no prior experience in the fashion field, my submissions were very, very simple. I won’t make a video showing them but i will tell you that majority of them were digital moodboards haha. I got some inspiration from pinterest and google and just made it my own. I took specific fashion trends i was interested in and based the theme of my moodboards on them. I hope this helps!😄

It will help with your qualification to study in Italy since they study in high school for 5 years but double check with Félix as well because it seems as though everyone in my course was given different information during their application process😅 best wishes!🫶🏾

@@tashewilson Okay, I def will! Would AP and Dual Enrollment classes count as PSEO classes? I've taken a bunch of those since my sophomore year and I'm pretty sure I have at least 6 college credits so far.

@@p_eachiee32 I’m not really sure. I think you would need a years worth of extra credits for it to count as a total of 5 years of schooling but make sure you double, triple, quadruple check with your IM advisor hahaha that’s what I did 🤣

Hi I recently received email from istituto marangoni for being selected at the university now I have to submit the enrollment fees. So i wanted to know that will there be a sort of interview as well after the enrollment fee or is that it i have my seat confirmed. By the way thanks for being so informative. Hi, I’m so glad I could make things a little less nerve-wracking for you!🫶🏾 if I remember correctly, you have to pay the enrollment and submit your portfolio amongst your other required application documents and once they approve your application, they will contact you to have a virtual meeting. During that meeting they should confirm that you’ve been officially accepted to the school and then you’ll have to pay your tuition fees by a certain deadline in order to officially confirm your place in the program😄

hi!! thank you for making this video I rlly rlly appreciate it there's barely any videos touching up on the application process for Istituto marangoni! I plan to apply this year, and I'm just really really anxious and confused LOL- for the portfolio, is it supposed to be 6 slides/pages or 6 projects?? because I'm really confused, for unis like LCF and CSM, they ask for like 30 *pages* max specifically and there's supposed to be like multiple projects in them kinda?? and I feel like I'm just making this more confusing for myself but that's what anxiety does 😭🥺

Oh, you’re so cute! Hahaha I’m glad my video helped you but try not to stress yourself too much. Everything will work out exactly as it needs to. To answer your question - I did a total of six different pages that consisted of moodboards and showcasing my own hand-made garments. So, I think I did four pages of moodboards and two pages showing my hand-made garments. You can choose what you want to submit for your portfolio, but just make sure you have six completed pages (of moodboards, collages, collection, etc) or six completed garments total. Want to apply for fashion design bachelors one, but I am really curious about first year of bachelors, will we need to buy a lot of staffs, like materials ? Knits.. etc. is it really expensive as for the first year or it’s still more chill?

Hi! Yes, you need to buy literally allllll of your own supplies. The only things the school provides are sewing machines, mannequins and prototype stencils for tracing so it gets expensive.

Hey Brandon, thanks! I’m glad I could help. Personally, I had lots of help from family and some of my own money but after doing my own research it seems that a personal loan may be best, especially if your parents can help you pay it!😄

If so, you could look into doing your masters at Marangoni if you already have a bachelors degree in fashion design. But, if you’re a self-taught designer looking to get more professional training, get a foot in the fashion industry and to make amazing connections you should maybe look into Marangoni’s one year fashion design program!😄

Hi 🙂 I’m not sure about that course you’re talking about but I don’t think it’s necessary since IM doesn’t require you to have any prerequisites or anything in order to be accepted. They accept students who have zero background experience in fashion! As far as scholarships, there’s a section on their website that talks about all of the scholarships they offer students and how you can apply. Good luck!💫

I'm trying to keep my options open and was wondering how leaving the school after 4 months worked out for you. Hiii, of course I still read these comments!☺️ I paid for the entire first year in full and unfortunately did not receive a refund when I quit my studies after 4 months. I think it’s very smart of you to keep your options open but be smart about it so you’re not wasting too much money since Marangoni won’t refund you. Hi Alice, there are some "student living" options but no student dorms. I don't remember what part of Milan I lived in but it wasn't a nice part and it wasn't in the city center. I didn't like Milan because it just wasn't a good fit for me. There wasn't much to do in my opinion because I don't care much for history/historical museums and theaters, the city is not visually appealing and its quite dirty with a lot of crime. It's what you make it, though. Best wishes!

Hi! Of course I’d read your comment! Haha 😄 to be honest, I’m not quite sure but I don’t think they care about GPA’s so much. Just as long as you’ve successfully completed your high school studies you should be fine. Marangoni has an acceptance rate of over 80%, so you have a good chance of being accepted, but please reach out to a Marangoni advisor (via email) for any questions you may have regarding specific admission requirements such as this one.
