hello i have the exam tomorrow and when i look at Sample Exam B, Question number 21. The answer of the 3 point boundary contains LB-2, LB-1, LB and LB+1. Same with Right boundary. So it contains 4 values per boundary. How come?

Hi! I am a little confused about the question about 10% discount. Isnt the correct answer supposed to be B instead of C ?? My understanding is that numbers 5 and 100 are the boundries, and so 2 point bva gives us LB -1, LB and RB, RB +1 = 4, 5, 100, 101 . Can you explain where is my problem please? Thanks!!!

boundries are 5-99, because when you buy 100, you get %10 discount, 5-99 are the group, that you cannot get discount and buy the item.

Hi there is an istqb sample question where a password field length is considered as input and valid length is 6-12 also it opens as default password length as 0 as empty password for me 3bva should be 5 6 7 11 12 13 but istqb answer sheet says it should be 0,1,4,5,5,7,11,12,13,14 which one is right?

I dont know but maybe they're considering the following partitions: [0, 1... 5] [6, 7... 12] [13, 14...] (invalid, valid, invalid).

I think the argument is that instead of 3 ranges, there are 4 ranges. 0, 1-5, 6-12, 13+. If you consider 4 ranges, they tested 0, 5, 6, 12, 13 for 2-point BVA. To do 3-point BVA, you need additional coverage. You would do 1 (boundary outside 0), 4 (between 1-5 range), 7 and 11 (for traditional 3-range 3-point BVA as mentioned in prior comments, and 14 (additional range in outer invalid limits). I'm still working through it in my head, but I THINK this is the general idea?
