I hope you will like Istria. Greetings from Pula! Avoid Medulin , Fažana. They’re overcrowded with tourists and too pricey. Well.. My city Pula is also expensive even for us. Anyway Visit Rovinj Poreč Labin Rabac and inland villages like Bale, Motovun, Grožnjan .. for nice original local restaurants see via Tripadvisor.. the more isolated restaurants in small villages the more great quality of food you will find.

Hi, fhe fishermen were located next to the big square, just down the main church. But with Covid i understand situation has changed and will need to ask. The cycle path is the one that connects Rovinj (starts from the newly built Marina on the south) and continue south to the Camping Polari

Hi - yes in the coastal towns of Slovenia and Istria you can generally speak Italian. Not everyone does, but elders and who works with tourists usually do. We were in Albania and virtually everyone can speak Italian. And yes, in Ticino (Switzerland) they all speak perfect Italian

@kraljibi4 жыл бұрын
After WW2 Yugoslavia received Istria as compensation, because Italy was a part of the 3rd Reich. The biggest paradox is that Istria is now part of Croatia, which was also part of the 3rd Reich as the NDH.
@KaSousek584 жыл бұрын
@@kraljibi Istria was given to Yugoslavia because region has croatian ethnic majority and was under yugoslav effective control. Who sided with whom during WWII has little to do with it
@kraljibi4 жыл бұрын
@@KaSousek58 please look facts. In 1910. : 168,116 (41.6%) spoke Serbo-Croatian, 147,416 (36.5%) spoke Italian, 55,365 (13.7%) spoke Slovene, 13,279 (3.3%) spoke German... So, for you majority is 5% more??? Also, according to various sources, after WW2 (1943 to 1960) Croatian communists organized the exodus of Italian population from Istria. Between 230,000 and 350,000 Italian people leave Istria in period 1943 to 1960. Croatian do the same with Serbs in Jasenovac in WW2 and after that 1990.
@KaSousek584 жыл бұрын
@@kraljibi You do realise that you have just proved that there were more croats than italians? (41.6% vs 36.5%) Yes, that is a majority. That is literally what majority means. Also, data from 1910 is not necessarily applicable for 1945. Second, your argument about communists expelling and killing italians is a moot point because the same was done to Croats and Slovenes in Istria in period of italian fascist government. Third, taking a period from 1943-1960 is a disingenuous point. You are taking into accounts 15 years after the war that had nothing to do with criteria with border demarcation. You cant just take a population from whatever time period you want and simply add it together in order to prove demographic composition of a certain specific period. Third your argument about "Croats do the same to Serbs" is especially hypocritical because "Serbs do the same to Croats and Bosniaks"
@kraljibi4 жыл бұрын
@@KaSousek58 First of all, if you know history, then you CANNOT compare what croats do to Serbian people in Jasenovac with "Serbs do the same to Croats and who? Bosnians? A fictional nation. Second, you proof that you di not know history when you wrote that" the same Italian fascist goverment did to Istrian and Slovenian. Please, read what kind of goverment had Croatia in the same period. NDH was a FASCIST STATE that committed genocide. All you know is that you are hiding the truth and blaming others for the crimes you have committed. The well-known Serbian duke Zivojin Misic said in a report to King Alexander II about the Croats: "These people are all detachments, transparent as hours, insatiable and so false and hypocritical that I doubt that there are bigger scoundrels, deceived and selfish people on the globe." So, learn history first. Until then, I greet you and I don't want to waste my time on you.
