@@TC7-Thecomplex7 Honestly yeah. No mods or tuning. The top speeds are different but after a certain point the line blurs and speed is well, speed. It's drifty so there isn't much of a racing line. Some cars are tougher and others are better off road. And everyone has the same weapons. It's one of the least realistic racing games in recent memory, but it really depends on your skills and grit.

Online game mode like this is a prime example that racing games can be something other than "going to the finish line first".

There is one REALLY good game by Codemasters called Onrush, which is similar to the Motorstorm series back on the PS3. Onrush is essentially about complete carnage while still driving along a track. There's not a SINGLE mode about actually racing. Not even elimination either. The online itself is a bit buggy but it's still super fun I recommend you check it out if you have the chance.

the pursuit that starts at 8:20 is essentially a fighter jet dogfight; it's 2 reventons (which are based off F22 Raptors) duking it out with strategic EMP (missile) shots and evading the other for as long as possible, while simultaneously trying to get the offensive position by getting behind the other. Except in Hot Pursuit races. Something about the cops ganging up on racers just make it so tough. Cops also have faster NOS recharge and technically accelerate harder.

Nah its cops who have a faster boost recharge (not including drifting to recharge), speed, acceleration and 80% chance of winning a head-to-head collision at any speed, racers have 1 less jammer than cops have as emp and the only way to recharge boost is to drift, near miss, and oncoming

Police also have a more powerful boost it drains faster but you also accelerate faster

The real problem when being a racer is when cops get close enough. Cop cars are much more stronger and durable than racers, and are built to engage and destroy racer cars. Racer cars are built to evade pursuit, not to engage. Which is why they're faster, their speed is their actual "weapon". Racers' equipment are made to counter police's, as police's equipment are made to take out racers with the aid of their low durability. Hence, When being a racer, it's better to get away from the cops. Engaging on them is not advisable as cops actually have more weapons that damages racers. Given it's a cop vs racer battle, escaping should be easy with only one cop chasing you. Just remember that cops have the advantage to wreck you easily while all you can do get away from them.

Those first two races were absolutely incredible plays. In the first one I didn’t even see the guy coming, but the fact that you dodged it AND left a spike strip was astonishing. The use of the jammer in the second one was honestly top class.

In the first pursuit, the guy could've won but he became too aggressive and pushed his luck. He could've kept accelerating further in the end and pulled a rabbit out of his hat. He got away with the shortcut okie doke the first time and thought you wouldn't adjust. Big mistake.
