@@1972dsrai. so??? Jamaica has overall better talent than Panama. And just last summer they lost to them and played horrible against inferior teams leading up towards Copa America. They had ONE away win against CONCACAF opponents in the whole Berhalter era. And already matched that in first meaningful away game with Povh. and then score 4 at home. It’s progress and the ball movement and overall look is like night and day day! Quit worrying about who they’re playing. They took care of business.

There was creativity and unpredictability we haven’t seen before. That’s the big positive. The mental part of the game seems to be advancing under Pochettino. Some of that is that we have more players playing at high level clubs with high level coaching and competition. I am very impressed with Tessmann, who is young but has a combination of skill, size and competitiveness this team needs in its pool.

Subs didn’t look too good but knowing we have Reyna, des, Adam’s and balugon getting healthy this could be a great team, not world class but able to punch above its weight looks very possible. CB we lack depth and goalkeeper we need our younger ones to develop more. This is looking a lot more exciting and what I love seeing the most is poch really cares about the players and takes care of them with injuries or minutes. Hopefully this team keeps developing and can be healthy to get minutes together and stay healthy for 2026. Gonna be one hell of a World Cup if we keep going in this direction

Balugon did good for us in copa America even with berhalter shitty system and he was looking better the couple weeks before his injury. Reyna hasn’t been good with club but for country he’s been one of our better performers even with berhalter having him play defense rather then have him higher and let him be more free offensively which I know if he gets poch to give him a chance he will be amazing. Now for Des and Adam’s that’s how I know you don’t pay much attention to this team. Adam’s and des both were good for there clubs before injury’s. You can tell at copa America des absence in our games. I agree we need to defeat better opponents but already seeing the difference in the couple games this teams played under poch compared to the entire time under berhalter we looked so much better and dangerous overall.

Question - Tessmann had a great performance tonight but, he's still not quite up to Tyler's caliber, IMO. If we assume that Tyler will be the 6 when he's back, what do you think about retooling Tessmann as a central defender? His size, skill, and physicality aligns with that position. You guys say over and over that we need to be grooming the next leader of the back line. And Tessmann seems to have those leadership qualities. Similar to what Dier did at Tottenham. Am I alone in thinking this might solve several issues while also keeping a high potential player on the field? What do you think?

Vasquez is a great option to have and have skills no one else in the pool has. While Wright is just as big, he plays small, and is technical over power every single time. Whereas Vasquez is no technician, he is a bull in a china shop smash and grab striker. He should never start in big games but as a 3rd option he can fill roles in as a late sub or tactical start.

The entire debate about Europe vs playing in MLS is silly. It depends on where in Europe they’re playing or competing. If we’re talking Gio and Pulisic at Chelsea & Dortmund, two elite clubs, sorry but I’d rather those guys be on the bench but competing against elite talent for minutes vs playing in MLS. I think that made Pulisic better, and now it’s paying off at Milan. If they’re riding the bench in lower Leagues etc, then maybe they should call a spade a spade and realize that they might not be at that level and then playing time in MLS is better. Also depends on position, I think GK should be playing, as a former GK you really need to be playing to be sharp, and the level of play MLS vs Europe isn’t as important as it is for development of a field player.

Poch is working out the system he wants to play and who best fits it. That could mean certain players missing out if they don’t improve that system or work well in it. You don’t just shoehorn players in. The players he uses might not be the best technically, but if they do whats asked of them they could get in ahead of better quality players because they might not give what Poch wants or are too indisciplined for the role he wants them to play.
