Man, it feels like the world has changed so much in the last 10 years or so. Back in the day there would be hundreds of clubs looking for a #10 to pull strings in the midfield and the question for Gio would have just been, how far is he willing to dive down the table in order to get playing time? It's less forgiving to playmakers these days, where only the handful of glamour clubs can play attractive possession football and even at those clubs the creative players are shoehorned into other roles out wide or deeper in the midfield where they have other primary responsibilities. It's also hard to say where Gio could go because Dortmund feels like the exact type of club that he should be able to break through for.
