Nothing like keeping an eye on where you are drifting. Hope you tide a knot in the pot floats so it may prevent a fatal incident.

We do keep an eye out for pots when drifting, but unfortunately, that one stuck up on us while we were distracted. Also, we were lucky and managed to retrieve pops fishing gear as it was actually stuck in our drift anchors rope.

Sucks to lose the anchor, that was a Sarca, too I think? I highly recommend a boomer anchor. They are expensive but they have a shear pin that breaks if they get snagged. Best anchor I've owned

Yep it was a sarca I really wasn't happy about cutting it off. Didn't really have a choice in the end though

sorry to hear about that story. next time make sure you mark the spot where you cut your anchor,, and ideally tie a floater to the rope before you cut it off. you might find people who'll dive for a carton :) got a cray pot back like that

Hey those big king wrasse are actually pretty decent eating. Have you tried them? The big male ones are worth filleting and a bit of flour and butter. Shame about the anchor mate - cluster fuck describes it perfectly! Love your work

Hard luck that sucks. Probably should’ve cut the shark off early and got out of the path of the cray pot line. Shark ain’t worth the hassle of everything going wrong.
