This EP is still massive in its sound. Most of the so-called “melodeath metalcore” at the time sounded super weak to me. This on the other hand retained supreme brutality!

@@RonnieRawdawg kinda funny, seeing as though the term "metalcore" wasn't coined until the early 90's by dwid hellion of Integrity. Before that, it was still hardcore. how about you try not throwing stones in a glass house, because you don't know what you're talking about either, genius.

This band was really literally right between that gap of metalcore being hardcore bands with metal riffs to becoming mall style scene kid stuff. they fit so well in that transitioning period so you get a bit of both out of both flavors from this EP and their debut album

Like what the other comment said referring to Killswitch Engage, that's exactly how I viewed AoJB. It was a mix between hardcore and metalcore. You can say the same with the record 'The Fiction We Live' by From Autumn To Ashes. From albums I've listened to between 2001 to 2005, I see a lot of that.

someone knows more of this bands or albums that have super melodic riffs all the time, and sometimes some clean chorus? melodic riffs all day and clean chorus is everthing for me, this is bc "The Chaitiff Choir" and Forever In Terror's "Restless In The Tides" are my favourite albuns for so long😭😭😭
@dorianhinkle55955 ай бұрын
Early It Dies Today kinda blew past me as I got really into powerviolence, but now that my tastes have gotten less abrasive, I really fuck with how they measure brutality against melody. It's a really delicate balancing act and I don't think enough people really appreciate how well this album threads that needle. They make it sound nigh on effortless.
