This EP is still massive in its sound. Most of the so-called “melodeath metalcore” at the time sounded super weak to me. This on the other hand retained supreme brutality!

i was lucky to be 17 living in NJ in 2002. amazing hardcore scene back then. friends had bands. got to see some of the greatest bands of all time imo. chilled with ETID a few times and Keith hugged me on stage once which was one of my greatest moments not gonna lie lol

@@RonnieRawdawg kinda funny, seeing as though the term "metalcore" wasn't coined until the early 90's by dwid hellion of Integrity. Before that, it was still hardcore. how about you try not throwing stones in a glass house, because you don't know what you're talking about either, genius.

This band was really literally right between that gap of metalcore being hardcore bands with metal riffs to becoming mall style scene kid stuff. they fit so well in that transitioning period so you get a bit of both out of both flavors from this EP and their debut album

Like what the other comment said referring to Killswitch Engage, that's exactly how I viewed AoJB. It was a mix between hardcore and metalcore. You can say the same with the record 'The Fiction We Live' by From Autumn To Ashes. From albums I've listened to between 2001 to 2005, I see a lot of that.

It Dies Today Man !!! I went into flashbacks of really good times , we open one of their first shows out of mainland USA in Puerto Rico 20 yrs ago , i don't remember seing them with eyeliners and shit lol , i guess they went another way after that time , anyways im here because this material is not on spotify , and i wanted to jam with heavy stuff , these people were ahead of it's time just like bands like Falling cycle sinai beach, bleeding though and more !! Now seing the comments, is a shame man .... Thank you for uploading it to YT !!

someone knows more of this bands or albums that have super melodic riffs all the time, and sometimes some clean chorus? melodic riffs all day and clean chorus is everthing for me, this is bc "The Chaitiff Choir" and Forever In Terror's "Restless In The Tides" are my favourite albuns for so long😭😭😭

Early It Dies Today kinda blew past me as I got really into powerviolence, but now that my tastes have gotten less abrasive, I really fuck with how they measure brutality against melody. It's a really delicate balancing act and I don't think enough people really appreciate how well this album threads that needle. They make it sound nigh on effortless.
