No one can imagine what it would be like to go home this evening and see your home or apartment or living space destroyed by fire. It is one of those things that even people who it has happened too, also can't believe it. The things we collect and have make our homes a special place where we can close the door and be 'at home'. One woman was asked in another California fire, what she missed most her Picasso or other famous paintings, the jewelry, the furniture. "No", she replied: what she missed most was her collection of photographs of her family going back decades and decades. All we know is that we should learn that nothing is here forever---even us! Well People voted for more climate change for the worse. Drill baby drill. Now maybe after countless large fires in LA this time they will rebuild with some common sense. Put in large fire breaks and maintain them. Limit the number of homes allowed to be rebuilt to separate them more. Build houses to a standard that has more chance of withstanding fires. Steel framed homes with brick and with fire mesh over the house gutters. Gutters that can be back filled with water and any homes with pools have an option for the pool pump to supply water to a sprinkler system around the house and yard to keep everything wet. With a backup diesel generator to run it as there would be no power to homes. Fire storms like this are impossible to stop if you give them the fuel to keep going. Limit its source of fuel as you cannot limit the heat or the wind.
