This one is Gold Ron. As you said it was “a lot of fun”.... for the listener too. Thanks.

Thanks Geoff!!! I'm surprised more musicians don't play this tune nowadays. Maybe because it was composed so early in jazz history.

Thank you for actually explaining it!!! Everyone else just plays it. I'm still trying to figure out the theory of it, but you unlocked it like no other could. Gonna have to sit down with this one (and you) again! Liked and subbed!

It is a true pleasure to watch how you, Master of music, explain, enjoy and 'personify' this golden tune. It is making me less frustrating that I cannot really pass over this wonderful swing era. Thank you so much!!!

Oh Ron! I had a lot of fun watching your hands, letting my right hand find notes that blended. Then! Using that C7, C#7, B7 over D. It felt like a revelation to me. Still having fun with no immediate destination in mind.

I enjoyed your rendition. I heard that Vladimir Horowitz was also thinking about quitting upon hearing Art Tatum, but I suspect that is apocryphal rather than true. I do know that Horowitz was a big admirer of Tatum and that they became good friends.

The story I've read is that Horowitz stopped playing his arrangement of Tea For Two upon hearing Tatum play the tune. Amazing!

The story about Oscar is hilarious to me, because I have had Several Incidents in my life where hearing Peterson made me want to give up.
