Banger video!!! 100% agree the provisional is stupid, same as divots in the fairway. I don't agree with stroke and distance on OB shots. I think it should be like a hazard, 2 club lengths and drop it. I once hit one so far into the forest in a Monday Qualifier. I teed up another and proceeded to get ready to hit it. The official says are you going to announce it. I said announce what? He said that you're hitting a provisional ball. I proceeded to curse at him with MFer it's 100 yards in the forest, I'm not looking for that. I was wrong for cursing at him, but the rule is stupid when it's obvious. I can understand it when it's borderline maybe in or out.

By the rules of golf once Wes played his provisional ball on 18 that ball was in play and his first ball was dead and can’t be played. George was right to make an issue about it. Wes made a 6 and they tied. And this wasn’t a PGA event just like all the rest of us play. But to be honest I did enjoy the brothers bickering about it.

@@danmyers9372 Wesley didn't hit a provisional ball on 18. He hit a ball he had dropped due to Penalty Area. A provisional ball would have been played from the teeing area. However, you are correct that his dropped ball was in play and the original tee shot was dead as soon as he took a valid drop.

Provisional is a ball you hit, for the provision that you cannot find your first ball. That has to be hit from the location of the shot that caused the need to have a provisional. Regarding the "high tide vs low tide" question: The additional gravity from the displacement of the moon is completely inconsequential on a putt. For one thing, the ball has virtually zero mass (compared to the oceans & moon.) Secondly, the other forces, such as the kinetic energy (from the club) being transferred into acceleration, and even the friction from the blades of grass, have significant influence on the path of the ball, rendering any gravitational fluctuations totally irrelevant.

1. A high tide is not from gravity elevating the water. It occurs when water flows into an area. As you add water, the sea level rises. 2. If an overhead moon is gravity pulling up on the golf ball, the ball has less friction on the green, thus acting like a "faster" putt. A ball breaks more on a fast green that a slow green. I think that's the opposite of Kwon's theory.

34:37 The moon does affect the tides, but the tides go high and low when the moon is directly above your head and directly below your feet. It’s a low tide when it’s on the horizons. When it’s at high tide when the moon is below you, the gravitational pull is lower than above your head. The corriolis effect has a better chance of effecting your putt based on latitude.
