How cool! I can't wait to share this with my father, Fred Fleischman, who grew up in Bridgeton and is 94 now. He can't wait to see it! Thanks so much for posting this.

My grandfather Chester Ogden Jr. is number 8 on the football team on this film. Thank you for sharing this artifact or Bridgeton.

Growing up in Bridgeton from the 70's through the 80's was great. Bridgeton today is nothing like then. I graduated in 89 and left a year later. It's now run down and only a few remnants (in my opinion) still stand, i.e. Big John's Pizza downtown and Terrigno's Bakery on Pearl Street. However, I haven't visited since 2012, but definitely have to make a pizza appointment one day (bucket list). Will always have a place in my heart!

My Grandmother, Elizabeth Sheppard Elwell Lange born in 1900 was a school teacher in Bridgeton and my Grandfather, Raymond Lange drove a Lastrugen delivery truck making deliveries to families in Bridgeton, sometimes with my mother, Jean Lange Stelmach as a young girl in the seat beside him. My Mom is now 87 and like her mother also taught in the school system until she started her own family.

Thank you sooo much for this!! Always heard the stories of the once successful Bridgeton but never saw it. Most of us grew up in the remnants of this abandoned city, constantly reminded of our rich history

Fun fact: The high School is no a hight school anymore because it is and Elementary+middle school (kindergarten -8th grade) I know this because I used to go there about a month ago and it was my final because I was in 8th grade.

This is very cool. But the audio and video were way out of sync. It was all hard to get used to. But this film is a gem. I bought some interesting things at the Squirrel's Nest myself a few years ago.

This clip is so awesome....It seems bridgeton had reached its pinnacle and topped off. Philladelphia and Camden became more important and left us in the dust.

you need to speak what you want bridgeton to be like.....its in the bible...romans chapter 4....Keep saying its "run-down and poor" and thats what it will stay.......why not say "bridgeton you are eveything Gods wants you to be??..... in heaven there's nothing rundown and poor!...Bridgeton, i declare you to be prosperous, and well- off. I command Satan, and his poverty devils to take their dirty hands off the bridgeton community.
