Is true Kevin what you saying about people taking the exam they just memorize the answer and expect to pass,but while taking practice exams people need to know if they get the wrong answer why did they get it wrong and look at the other answer choices too and make sense of those too..great tutoring Kevin thanks for sharing.

Well said. I made the same mistake with cert stacking. During interviews, my home lab was mostly discussed, and the experiences with Testout Labsim. They liked the fact that this was things i was already doing in my free time. Certs were just for their compliance 😆. Many want to take shortcuts and wonder why it's not working out for them. Awesome video as usual

This is so true. I was lucky to get a helpdesk starter position and tried several times to get cert. I think what hurt me is not getting the hands on experience or feeling overwhelmed that all these jobs want Certs. But good advise, apply for the positions first, focus on the cert 2nd.

I am currently trying to get my A+ cert. i have been studying now for a couple months and I am taking it soon. While doing this I also started watching your videos, I did labs at home also to learn active directory. While doing all this I have also been applying to places. I got my first interview today and have 2 more interviews next week as well. Can honestly say I am glad I did not wait to apply places. I learned my Resume didnt look the best. Had to change it twice before I started getting call backs. Thank you for all your help and advice kev. It has helped me alot. Keep up the good work

Great content Kevin. I saw one of your other videos and was really impressed with how you give all this insight into what you do. This particular video is exactly what I am doing now. I have a suedo IT background but never done work full time. I'm supplementing my lack of full-time experience by creating my own part-time. I have a lab on VirtualBox with Server, Win10 etc. I'm taking online tutorial classes while actually doing the work in my lab. Certs mean nothing unless you can put into practice what you learned. There isn't a real excuse for not having any experience only people's priority in learning and putting that learning into action is the problem. Thanks for a great video.

so true with you had said. Interviewer would still ask you on what you had learned in that certification you got. If you couldnt answer well they wouldnt still believe on you that you are competent on the job. So its more important that you know or have an idea on what you are entering even like you are from 0 to 80% knowledgeable because in every company you will always get additional knowledge that you didnt get from your previous company. And yes, its better to apply or practice what had learned on video so that you would be able to understand and get familiar as well to the skills you wanted to acquire. So its kinda like in your everyday journey is a new learning experience. Certificate can to be follow specially when you know that you are now well and confident to take it with no pressure at all 😉 Thanks Kev for reminding us, kuddos 👋😁

Hey Kev, Once again you doing GOD’s work. In reference to building a lab, do I need a desk top PC or a laptop 💻? Also, how can I buy you a cup of coffee? Thanks
@KevtechITSupport3 жыл бұрын
you can build a lab using a laptop or desktop. Either one works but you need a good amount of memory, 16gb is good and a decent graphics card. If you can't do it on your pc than do it on azure or google cloud for free. my buy me coffee is this one www.buymeacoffee.com/kevtechitsupport
@12012channel3 жыл бұрын
Either one would work but I would say both if you can. That way you have a chance on working on both laptop and desktops. Software/OS side they are basically the same but hardware side they can be quite different. So, it is good learn how to solve hardware problems on both. For example, a power problem would be fixed differently on a laptop vs a desktop PC.

Hey Kev! I was recently able to land an interview for Tuesday for a “service desk deployment technician” position after a month of no luck job hunting. I have no IT experience at all and I’m even confused as to what the job is about compared to a regular help desk position. Would you say it’s worth going for it just to get into IT? I guess I’m afraid to get a job where I won’t be exposed to learning about IT and just moving hardware around. Help!

What type of question is this? did you learn anything about IT in college? Since this is a dumb question I'll answer it respectfully, the only thing that matters in the workforce is the value you bring to an employers table. Are you skilled at the job? ask yourself these questions not if a piece of paper with your name on it.
