Just recently started listening to your podcast and now found your channel. Great video and look forward to following this years journey. Having done many triathlons, trail races and lots of Hiking the Ultra itch has been growing so decided to enter the ballot for the Lakeland 50 this year and got a slot. Looking forward to the training and the challenge of the event. Keep up the good work

2023 will be my first L100 and I’m very excited. A lot to take in and new skills to learn (like training with and using poles). I’ll be following your journey and documenting mine as well as I transfer from the hills of the Cotswolds to the mountains of Cumbria. Best of luck I look forward to following your journey!

Great to hear from you! I used to live in Nailsworth so know the Cotswolds a little. Yeah, get practicing with the poles 😀Fingers crossed I’ll see you in Coniston 👍🏻

Great video Gary. Looking forward to following along! Wondered how long a "oh my goodness me" would take to make an appearance 😂. Also a long term listener to the podcast and listen every week to you and Eddie. Keep up the good work on all fronts! Ash

@@teaandtrails I've got Chester Marathon in just under 5 weeks time. Ideally I'd like my finish time to start with a 2... My current PB is 3:01 from Manchester last year. But whatever the result I'm planning on moving over to the trails next year. Thinking of throwing my name in the hat for the ballot for Lakeland 50, with the possibility of doing UTS 50k in the May. Also debating a sneaky entry into TdeH this December too! Nothing serious on that one, just get round and have a good day out. Mainly so I can have a week off and binge a bit over Xmas and feel like I've earned it 😂
@teaandtrails2 жыл бұрын
@@ashleyholbrook9396 loads of great races!! Best of luck for Manchester. My thoughts exactly for TdeH Some good training, big race then relax over Christmas 😀

Yes to this, thinking of trying to get a spot for next year's race balancing against doing BGR which has been an on off goal for 3 year now 🤣Will be very keen to follow along and get some tips. Running goals for 2022.. finish the year injury free and get over the lakes 3 more times for legs of the BGR. 👍👍👍
@teaandtrails2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a great end to the year! Fingers crossed you make it over. Decisions decisions... BGR is so different to Lakeland, but both amazing. Maybe see you on the start line!!

Hey Gary...just subbed from Semi-remote Canada! (and followed ya on Strava...I just set that up..."Mookie" Good to see an "old" guy trying crazy stuff! I'm 58 and have a trail marathon next month (Oct 8). My longest race has been 50km. Hard to find the longer ones near me. I have 3 dogs too so a bit of logisitics. Looking forward to your training vids for this 100 miler! I find I have had to modify my training to keep fresh legs and can't pound away like I did 20 years ago. You live up where my parents come from....West Pelton and Chester-le-Street area...nice to hear your accent (even though you likely would think I'm the one with the accent!)
@teaandtrails2 жыл бұрын
Greetings for England!! Thanks for the sub too 👍🏻 best of luck for your trail marathon. I’m rubbish on Strava, but I’ll try and keep and eye out to see how you get on. I bet you have some awesome trails!!

@@teaandtrails Thanks man! Lots of cool trails....we have a lot of salmon in the creeks and river now so a lot of bears. I do videos (mainly for my mom) and had the odd grizzly bear lately coming through the yard etc if you're bored and want to take a look. Back to running....I used to do triathlon and had a coach etc (before moving to the sticks!) and did a lot with pacing, HR etc so I was happy to take off the watch and just enjoy the run. Now I see Strava wants you uploading (downloading?) stuff so I have a newer Garmin and will try and and least show my long runs...and of course the race. I know I'll be more entertained following you than visa versa!
