Some of us are blessed to hear the absolute beauty of the blues. It hurts me too that we don't all have that joy.

I saw him with Fleetwood Mac at the Bluesville 68 club in Bradford in 1969. Christ that's a long time ago.

Pre Fleetwood Mac Jeremy Spencer played our blues club in Wolverhampton with his band---The Bluesdusters I think, if memory serves. He was living in Lichfield at the time which is only about 20 miles away. A few months later Fleetwood Mac played the club and there was Jeremy again----we had no idea he had joined them! Heady days indeed.

There's something about performances like this that reaches into your chest and grabs hold of your beating heart. I can't put words to just how much i feel the blues when its played like this. And for the life of me I cannot fathom how two immense talents like Jeremy and Peter ended up in the same group. That's fairytale stuff to me.

You did a great job of putting into words how this music makes you feel. Same here. Sometimes the universe just lines up right and talents like Peter and Jeremy are brought together. And let's include the rest of the band members. The blues are a American birth right. ❤❤❤

I got to see Jeremy in concert at the Fillmore East in NYC a few times...he was one of the mainstays in Fleetwood Mac....a band with several mainstays. He is still a force to contend with.

Sublime, a uniquely jazzy interpretation of a classic that is usually performed in a more raw, bluesy style. Love it either way.

I love Elmore James version, 💙💙💙Eric Claptons too, Susan Tedeschi from Tedeschi Truck Stop Band is awesome also. I would wager that Bonnie Raitt does an awesome one too! This guy does a more jazzy, folksy, Hank Williams Senior version. You should check out the Phillidelphia MS native Otis Rush...he does a song " Can't Quit Cha Baby, But I gotta Put Cha Down For a While" it's a bluesy Can't Quit kinda song..

The late great John Lee Hooker said "the blues ain't nothing but a good woman on your mind". And this is the tune that gives truth to those words. This is my favourite blues tune, and this is a damm fine version!

Spencer still gots it!!! The old Fleetwood Mac was always a pleasure to see when they played Detroit. Seen them the1st time at the Grande BallRoom during a snowstorm. The crowd was down because of the blizzard, but they played like it was to a Full House. Truly a Great Band!!! Also, Fantastic job to Brett and Ross.

Love this Elmore James song. Interesting version with two and half minutes of playing then the vocals start. A special rendition. Thank- you.

Say what you like about Jeremy Spencer but down the years, black or white, no one else has come close to matching the emotion of the great Elmore James.

Oh yea, I second that emotion. Came so very close last year to reuniting the hometown "Bend In The Road" band with Jeremy in Detroit at Callahans. Salvaged these Living Room jam sessions from the cancelled 40-date tour. Jeremy's playing even more tasty & mature then back in those heady daze.

Jeremy Spencer is accused in 2 seperate memoirs written by second generation Children of God members (who were born into the cult) of physically and sexually abusing them when they were children. The books are "Not Without My Sister" and "Uncultured". Both great books about overcoming extreme adversity. Check them out!

@@johnc3403 Even stranger, I don't even remember making that comment, but I'll blame that on the aging process. Anyway, Peter is one of my all-time favorite guitar players. I first heard his superlative Blues playing on John Mayall's great LP, "Hard Road". That album and Paul Butterfield Blues Band's 1st album gave me my first taste of the Blues.
