Thank you very much Prof. In this interview, i acknowledge the damn truth of what you have said. Its quite difficult in Africa to stamp out corruption especially in a country where nearly everybody is beneficiary of a corrupt system. It goes without saying as in Kenya we elect corrupt leaders on the basis of being bought financially during elections. Wiping corruption here needs a bulldozer like Hon. President John Joseph Pombe Magufuli. He is focused tough no nonsense and yet humble to the poor of society. Thank you Professor for your contributions.

In Tanzania tribalism has no steam. It is my belief that Magufuli may succeed to propel this country way way ahead. He is getting a full support from his people except few. A hidden danger here is those countries who used to encourage and benefit from corrupt African countries and their politicians

I think there are 3 way to stop corruption in Africa : 1- all examens , test , interviews to take any position on gouvernement administration, have to be organized by outside or international office , until the country build strong and integrity people. Put a big fight of corruption ,on your school system on any level even private schools . 2- the president of country should have the sens of integrity and work with people with integrity . 3 - expose in national TV , any people trial related to corruption even that person is first minister of the gouvernement .

The biggest issue here is based on foundation, this has been made an industry and if an industry dies people loose their privileges and those in these industry will fight with what they have to protect it. If Africa can not end this system and uproot the causes, the industry of corruption is here to stay and even the generation they mentor will pick up from where they left off.

Corruption will still occur as long as people sees it as a value instead of an anti-value. Corruption has always been the “new normal “ for such such a long time... It’s like maffia or something totally enabled by some of those who are supposed to protect the interests of their people. So Pr Lumumba is obviously correct.

The challenge in the fight corruption is, once a certain community/ nation leader is anti-corrupt than he is deprived of resources to develop his nation. Hence, Africa nations have proven that- where there is no corruption there's no development (or rather slow).

Corruption is deeply rooted in most black countries because it was part of our culture before the introduction of government systems introduced by the colonizers. For instance, Nepotism(a form of corruption) was seen as a good practice in most black cultures. So.. how exactly can we stop corruption when it is deeply rooted in our culture?
