You should do We Are Marshall next. It's based on the true story about the Marshall University Football team who had to re-create the football program from scratch after Southern Airways Flight 932, the plane the football team was on, crashed into a hill, killing 37 players, 8 members of the coaching staff, and 25 boosters on November 14, 1970. Today, Marshall University plays this film for freshmen during their orientation, calling their story an "Ashes to Glory" story. The Ashes being the plane crash, the glory being their ability to rise above it. This isn't in the movie because it happened long after it premiered, but sadly, Reggie, who was the youngest on the team at the time (he wasn't on the plane because he was injured), died a few years ago due to a fall at his house. In life, he went on interviews telling the story, not wanting this tragedy to be forgotten. It's an important story because it shows how a football team who lost nearly everyone, triumphed over tragedy.

As someone from SoCal, Sunshine ☀️ was always one of my favorites! 🥰 And no he’s not Eddie Redmayne from Fantastic Beasts, the actors name is Kip Pardue. The reason Sunshine kissed Bertier was to get him off his back, he called him a fruit cake earlier so that was his way of getting him to shut up 🤭 And yes that was Hayden Panettiere as the little girl! Seeing you guys react to this makes me want to see your reaction to The Help… such a good movie! ☺️

The actual TC Williams team that the movie was based on was unfairly good. They were 13-0 and with 9 of those wins being shut outs. They out scored their opponents 356-45 throughout the season including a 27-0 win in the state championship game where the other team was held to -5 yards of offense the whole game.

What was the atmosphere like there regarding racism? Did kids resent having to watch this in school? I'm in my 30s and grew up in Southern California, in a neighborhood with basically every race. But my mom sent me to a "better" high school an hour away, in an all-white area, and they had their own KKK. It was ridiculous. I'm white, so I blended in, but I hated seeing all the Nazi crap and the teachers acting like it was normal. I loved this movie growing up. I wished my mom would become open minded like some of the characters.

Lol no. Nothing funnier than women trying to act like they know anything about guys going by some random feminist narrative. He did it so that the rest of the guys stopped joking about it unless they wanted the same treatment. Basically saying "if you keep thinking about it you must be too, since you seem interested, so I'll give you what you want". He got the result he wanted, because nobody kept teasing him about it after and focused on him as an actual individual.

@@bura19 Not really. But I see you're a woman as well. Trying to "get" guys in the same idiotic way incels act like they know how women feel and interact and all their motives. It's way different to make someone question their masculinity than to simply make them uncomfortable. Say a straight woman kisses a gay guy, and he feels uncomfortable, it's not his sexuality or anything else being put to test. He simply won't like it since he doesn't like women, and he'll avoid being put into the same position again. I remember the night in 1970 when the crash happened. I was watching the Tonight Show and a news flash came on. Living in a small Friday night lights town everyone was devistated. And we cheered when they won the championship.

Your faces in reaction to the unnecessary racist remarks were great. You guys bring really fun energy n I love how genuine it is. I am from this area n I think it’s cool for you guys to know that the scores were close in this movie for dramatic effect. Made for a great underdog movie. But in reality the titans ran thru every team n blew them out of the water. Almost all the games were shutouts. A true unstoppable force. So glad you guys did this one. Super fun as always 💚

As an middle aged black lady i thoroughly enjoyed your reaction vid. If i can make a suggestion on a fun football movie to watch it would be the Replacements with Keanu Reaves. Also, the movie with Scott Bakula with Comedian Sinbad called Necessary Roughness. Two Fun football movies, adult themes laughs and feelgood. I hope you guys check em out. Peace and i am a new sub.

Ryan Gosling turned 18 while this was being filmed. Sunshine kissed him because when he got out of the car he accused him for being gay. In 1970 being accused of being gay was really bad. Really, in the first year only one team even got close. It isn't exactly what happened, but I guarantee if it didn't happen at the school, it did at another one.

The reason why the hospital part touches most of us is because it’s just pure love between two guys. There’s no race shit it’s just love I think that inspires me to be better and be more open to people.

The real Herman Boone was fired from his coaching job after he was accused of getting into physical fights with his players whenever they refused to play.
