I think nowadays Testing jobs are completely programming oriented, there is nothing called now Manual testing. Its just a task for a while to perform. If any candidate want to get higher for Testing or SDET then he should have programming skill at beginning level itself. No matter if they are doing Manual testing or Automation.

@@rahuld5034 Yes complete programming language with good logic building skills [Java, Python and Java Script] all 3 are must.. at least 1 at beginning level. after 5 years exp u must know 3 programming with different library. its similar as application development. No difference.
