The women who critised Yijun's dish must feel so bad when she see this clip. I feel sorry for him, but i feel sorry for her too. People might criticize her for this. If she was told beforehand that the dish is for kids, she might comment about it differently even without knowing who cook it.

Yijun and his dad went to that restaurant for the purpose of getting feedback from people they don't know, and what you said about Yijun's dish will help him in the future and expand his horizons more. He's very young...I really don't think this is right to do a child at this age. There's plenty of time to become accustomed to criticism in life. But it's important to build up their confidence for stability while they're still young. You did so well Yijun! There's a bright future for you :)

This looks like it could hurt Yijun’s dreams and confidence in himself UNLESS it is followed up by the absolutely most supportive next steps, like being given loads of support and uplifting encouragement from his parents and important people in his life, being told he is loved regardless of how he performs and he is so so capable, teaching him how those tasters’ negative comments don’t have anything to do with his abilities and potential, showing him that this is all a part of life, that these experiences will help him be better and better, and giving him many chances for him to try more and succeed and gets lots of positive feedback.

I personally feel that his dad could have stopped him from hearing it. I think testing receipe of 😭 yijun would have been better, if staff told one was made by kid chef and another by adult without revealing names. I understand his dad's policy to make yijun face reality but, people like me still have low self esteem due to harsh criticism at young age. We should be careful when evaluating child's emotions as it can create life long underconfidence.

Definitely agree. But I think yujin doesn't belong to the low self esteem group. That's why his father allowed criticism. if he was more of a tender kid then he wouldn't have allowed him to hear it. I mean obviously the parent knows better right?

I think it is abusive of the production to exploit a little kid’s failure for entertainment. The lesson was totally flawed from the outset. They put the customers and the kid in a bad position. These lessons are best kept off-camera. There is a fine line between cultivating humility and humiliation.

Honestly, if I was a kid, i would prefer yijun's dish. I can't eat spicy food at all when I'm still a kid. I will wash the chicken, fish, meat, shrimp if it's covered with spiciness or redness. I'm an adult now and still can't eat spicy properly 😂 I'm so proud of him. He's still a child, but can cook properly, create a dish, know most of the food names, know his passion really well 😊 To the strangers who eat/try the foods, thank you for giving honest review about it. Hopefully it can help improving yijun and his father's dishes❤️
