Hi everyone. I'm a little confused by the video. I understand at the beginning of the video and in places through out they stated they needed a rental, because they were remodeling the other house, BUT then by the end around 25:42 Megan starts talking nostalgically about the older house and that it basically served a purpose for a time. I get the feeling they want to scrap the older house and move into this nicer one for good. Anyone else as confused as me?

I have mine walk on the leash outside and they enjoy it.
@Elizabeth-rq1vi3 жыл бұрын
@@DD_nz in addition to them wandering the neighbourhood,they poop in the neighbour’s garden, tease the neighbour’s dogs, poop in children’s sandboxes. In many Canadian cities there is a bylaw that cats (like dogs) can’t be off the owner’s property, meaning they have to be on leash when outside because cats won’t stay on property without a leash.
@wendyweaver87493 жыл бұрын
@@DD_nz - I used to believe most of what you wrote. But cats can be very happy to be indoors at all times unless on a harness and leash. This is based on 65 years of experience. It is NOT cruel and inhumane for cats to be indoors because cats are NOT wild animals - they have been domesticated for thousands of years. Lives are lengthened and easier because indoor cats are not exposed to diseases, injuries, parasites, theft and death (such as by raccoons, coyotes, dogs). It IS cruel and inhumane to deliberately place a cat in situations where they can be subject to injury, disease, theft and death on a daily basis. Indoors only has been my policy for nearly 30 years and I have absolutely no regrets - I no longer worry that when my cat does not return at night it will be forever because the cat is dead or is too injured to get home. No indoor cat has suffered an injury of any kind in these 30 years. No indoor cat has died or endured a permanent disability due to an injury. No indoor cat has had worms or parasites. My indoor cats have had plenty of play, toys and hidey holes, etc., are well-loved, healthy and appear to be pleased, happy and content. In fact, being outdoors even on a leash has caused some of my cats anxiety: they do not want to be outdoors except on a deck or when perched on the sill of an open window. I even had a previously outdoor cat (six years) choose to be indoors only; after just a one week of confinement, she refused to go outdoors. She evidently had more than enough stimulation watching from closed and open windows plus toys and my attention. And she had been a hunting cat!
@lallred19113 жыл бұрын
@@tinydancer7426 This family won't have it but there are fences designed to contain cats. The top section slants inward and is rather floppy. If that fails, one could add an electric wire with a very light charge. Cats will quickly learn to avoid it. Of course, that won't affect the owl problem. Do owls go after full-grown cats?

Aww that barn owl is so pretty! I agree with Megan, if you have to move into a rental at some point might as well do it now, especially since you homeschool and with covid when we’re all stuck at home, I’m sure your family would benefit from having more space. If anyone gives you an estimate that it will take less than a year to build your house though I would be very skeptical, I think 1 year is optimistic and that doesn’t include the time it takes to get your permits, sort finances and sign a contract with a contractor. When we were finally ready to build our new home (with us as the builders) we decided to put our old house up for sale. In a crazy twist of fate, we sold in less than 24 hours and they wanted to rake possession in 2 1/2 months. We then had to make our house plans, get permits, and order the building materials (we built an Insulated Concrete Form home) , etc. Before we could move, I herniated a disc in my neck which meant I was out of commission. So we hired a friend to help my husband, rented a small 2 bedroom apartment to move into (with 2 teenage boys and 1 teenage girl! Needless to say, my husband and I slept in the living room, the dining room became our living room and the table was put in the kitchen. Wish we had the opportunity to rent a house like that one! But we have been here now for close to 15 years and the kids have all gotten married and have homes of their own. Lol! Rent the house, be happy while building your new one and like our kids, they’ll create beautiful memories you can all look back on. For the new house you should go out of your comfort zone and ask each kid their design likes and like what would be cool for a space in their rooms I say space bc they’ll always be sharing but just like a little designed personalized area for them for pearl a nice jewelry holder/small desk craft diyers are amazing but for even more space effective ideas y’all are amazingly creative,for the younger ones go by what you know about them too for eve she’s good with talking to you but you could make a video on 1 on 1 time with each the kids a little series of learning about them

Moving /traveling so often, how do you handle address changes ? Do you use a static mailbox rental location? Is this handled though your business? Sincere question . Congratulations on the new rental.

Funny they kept saying they wanted to buy a small house without an open floor plan. Now they have one, they are excited to rent a big house with an open floor plan?
@jackiecosta76203 жыл бұрын
they just need more room .

They said they like the older floor plans that give separate spaces (I do too btw), like the traditional colonial they want to build. They plan to build/renovate the home they own with plenty of room for their family. They made the little house their home, just like they made the rv and the AiBnBs . As she said, they serve their purpose, and this rental will too. It is exciting to get to stretch out when you have been living in close quarters for a while. 😀
